Rambo V

It is rumoured that Stallone is writing a Rambo 5, this time Rambo will be taking out of a warzone and face problems back home.

I think this sounds good, putting Rambo in a urban setting and giving him a shotgun instead of a machine gun.

Which of Stallone's movies was the beginning of all those wrinkles on his face and his skin began to sag? To me, the last film in which Stallone appeared healthy and wrinkle-free was "Tango and Cash"

Yeah, he said he has wrote the half of the manuscript.

I´m a die hard fan of Sly since Rocky and I love Rambo 4 and Rocky Balboa, but I must recognize that I´m a bit scare about his new Rambo, because Stallone says that will be not war anymore for Rambo, I´m very intrigue about the new path of the saga, a bad direction of the character will be lethal for the icon, the story, the fans and his career, than is over the top again.

I would take care a lot with the new direction.

Well, in May will be in a lot of USA theathers the screening of First Blood with the original ending when Rambo dies, and interviews with Sly.

Don´t miss that opportunity to see First Blood in the Big Screen 26 years later!!!

I will go

During promotional work for Bullet to the Head, Stallone recently spoke again about the possibility of a 5th Rambo film:

I like how Sly is realistic and honest about how hard it is to keep in shape for a film like this at his age. Makes me think he won't ever make a film where it's not really believable that he could be that character. I wish we could see the same thing from Seagal. I don't want him to have the body of a 40 year old again I just want him to be believable as an action star.

Personally I would love to see another Rambo film as I thought Rambo was a worthy addition to the series plus Stallone always writes and directs a good story. Again it's a shame that instead of writing several scripts for bad DTV movies, Seagal didn't just spend all that time writing one decent one for Under Siege 3!

Would like to see another Rambo, would have preferred it to another Expendables.

I haven't seen the second Expendables film, was it not that great then?

I liked the first Expendables but my only criticism would be that there wasn't enough violence. That was what I liked about Rambo, that it was just so violent. I hope if Stallone makes another one he keeps or intensifies the violence.

I thought the second Expendables was a lot better than the first, but still would have preferred another Rambo movie first. ;)

Hoping this will be a reality; I think Stallone has alot of emotion he can put to drive the character and also close out the series. Interested to see how he will send out the character - although I prefer this franchise over Rocky, the ending of Rocky Balboa was really well done, the final scene at the cemetary with the music and his character fading out into the background.

Yeah I always think Stallone's next movie should be another Rambo :)

I loved the ending to Rocky Balboa too and like you say Stallone is emotionally invested enough in the Rambo character to make sure he gets a proper finale.

If Seagal really wanted to do Under Siege 3 he could, he would just have to work really hard to want it. Stallone had a very hard time trying to make the last Rocky because nobody wanted to make it but he kept at it and look where he is now.

Seagal needs to quit being lazy and not work with people who are always agreeing with him.

its not that simple

the US franchise is owned by 2 different companies who both want the rights(recency and warner bros)

until that is sorted they will never by a US3 with seagal or anyone else

Unfortunately neither do I.

Stallone did have a hard time making the last Rocky but like you say he kept at it and it paid off and started off the career resurgence he is currently having with the Expendables and other upcoming films.

I know making Under Siege 3 isn't as simple as Seagal just getting in shape and working with decent producers and directors again. However that would help. After all half the reason Stallone was able to make Rocky Balboa and Rambo was because he still looked the part. I don't even necessarily want Seagal to make another Under Siege film and yes I realise there are a lot of rights issues with that film. I just want Seagal to make another good film like the ones he was making up to Exit Wounds, that is worthy of a cinema release.

For those of us needing a Rambo fix while we wait for Rambo V, there is a new first person shooter being released for Xbox, PC and Playstation 3 this year. In the game the player takes on the role of John Rambo in scenes from the first 3 films. The game features dialogue from both Sylvester Stallone and the late Richard Crenna, taken from the original dialogue tracks of the films.
