Some questions I have:

What is Force of Execution about? Is Steven Seagal a bad guy or a good guy?

You made a lot of movies with Steven Seagal. How is it to work with him on the set?

Do you have full control over your movies? Can you till a bit about dtv filmmaking and how you experience the short shooting periods.

Do you have some new projects on the horizon? Maybe with Steven Seagal.

You worked with Seagal and Steve Austin. Which action star or actor would you like to work with in the future?

Dear Mr Waxman. Thank you very much for doing this Q&A!

1. Are there some good old fashion Seagal-Arm-break scenes in FORCE OF EXECUTION?

2. Has Seagal ever mentioned that he wanted to do Under Siege 3? Even if it`s Direct to DVD?

3. Is is there a possibility of MAXIMUM CONVICTION 2 being made?

Thanks.
Simon

Dear Mr.Waxman, thanks a lot for your time spending on our Q and A.

1) Is it still possible for you to get a bigger budget (LIKE 25 MILION USD) by Voltage Pictures (or any other company) and make a movie released theatrically. I mean with Steven Seagal plus some other big names like Statham, Lundgren, Snipes etc. who could still attract broad audience? And would you like to do a project like this, if Seagal got enough money for it?

2) Could you tell us more about the worldwide distribution of films like Maximum Conviction? I know that it goes straight to Dvd and Bluray in the USA and Canada, but do these movies get at least some theatrical release in Asia and Europe? And what is the overall box/dvd office result of these 10 milion budget movies?

3)Who was your most favorite action hero of all time? Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Seagal, Willis, Chan, Van Damme, Li or some else?

4) Do you think that Seagal feels sad about his fall from his top of Hollywood (in years 1988 to 2003) to the land mostly straight to DVD films (Between years 2003 and 2013)?

5) There were some rumours that Maximum Conviction would get a limited theatrical release in the USA and Canada by Anchor Bay. Why did it not happen eventually?

3.what cgi company do you use with steven....i like MC alot but felt the cgi was cheap looking in places and also on TJ the cgi runied certain scenes

Guys you cannot ask him some of those questions, they are a little too offensive and not interview etiquette. You need to be courteous so that he will do it again. Don't ask him if it is possible for him to get a bigger budget, that would not please me as it feels like a criticism, instead ask about his future work, where he would like to go now and if Seagal will be a part of it. Don't ask about the DOP or the release date, those are simple things that we will find out for ourselves in time and the release date will likely be October/November at the latest I would have thought, based upon these DTV release schedules. Ask him more behind-the-scenes questions and things about Seagal teaming up with other actors, e.g. You brought together two action titans in Maximum Conviction, has Steven expressed interest in working with any other action actor in particular and who would you personally most like to see him work with. Stuff like that. Make sure the questions are worded succinctly and coherently and don't ask anything too offensive or talk about mistakes in his movies. Instead of saying stuff like, that scene was shit, ask if there is anything, looking back on his movies with Seagal that he would have done differently and if he learns something on every movie, what has been the most valuable thing he has learned etc. Also perhaps since he has worked with Dolph, ask about him and then use that to lead onto a question about Seagal working with Dolph and say that fans would love to see this collaboration. Let him know you are looking forward to his future work and stuff.

Thank you Mr waxman! :)

I would like to know what excites you most about Force of Execution?

Do you have big plans in the future with seagal that you are looking forward to possibly trying something new? Have you ever thought making a horror movie with Seagal could be interesting? You see all these movies like friday the 13th etc. Well why not come up with your own thriller/slasher movie starring steven seagal? I also just want to say we the fans love what you have done you have made some of the best Steven Seagal movies in a long time & We appreciate them so much & if anyone can bring the old school seagal back its definitely you. Thank you waxman. Your a good director & we all wish your directing career success :)

I totally agree with you! Some questions can't be asked. Don't worry, I will make a selection of all the questions....

Nathan Wilson is the DOP according to his website (www.nathandp.com).
Good find Martin...although i would prefer if they used someone else now has its the same crew ie director/dop/music etc over and over and the films all look the same

Also on the website it say Anchor Bay have the rights again to the movie which is good news as I thought they did a good job with MC and had behind the scenes/directors commentry which the like of Sony never had

a few other questions

1.Is it true Seagal only works 4 hours a day and is this difficult has a director to get the shots you want?

2.Also in MC Seagal and Austin had very little screen time.....was this Deliberate or because of time restrictions?

3.How long does it take to film a fight scene with Seagal......for instance the fight between him and Pare in MC?

Ok so instead of my first a little too offensive question as you called it, I have this one:

Voltage Pictures has been doing movies with Seagal and you for some years. Recently they also produced some films with Wesley Snipes and Dolph Lundgren. Are you planning to make another action team-up movie for example Seagal-Lundgren? It was reported last year that Dolph wants to make a movie called.Skin Trade with Seagal as his buddy. You could be a great director for it....

Sure there is. Ask him if he could shoot the movie the way he wanted or that he, given the opportunity, would want to remake it and what he would need for it (f.e. bigger budget, more creative freedom etc.).

This way you give him the space to tell us about him and his wishes and at the same time hint at bigger budget and so forth.

Peace

1. Given that you have been instrumental in building Seagal up to a theatrical comeback, do you think that FOE will finally give him that opportunity? If not, perhaps a cameo in Expendables 3 might - as was the case with Machete - further pave the way? Should we hold out hope for a theatrical return sometime in the near future?

2. Both you and Seagal have been so busy with True Justice recently that there don't appear to be that many feature films in the pipeline for him. Beyond FOE, do you know of any other projects that Seagal has in mind for the future, or are you both returning to conclude the cliffhanger storylines of True Justice?

3. After having put so much effort into True Justice, and even having a second season commissioned, were you disappointed with the way that the series has been treated on the home markets - i.e. released as separate 'movies' rather than as a TV series? Do you think that this may have potentially confused / put off a broader fanbase, particularly when the 'movies' were released out of episode order, and particularly since not all episodes were released?

4. Although we are all expecting FOE to be a lead action thriller for Seagal, his close friend Danny Trejo is also playing an important role. Some might argue that Trejo has enjoyed greater celebrity success than Seagal in the twilight of his career - the Machete franchise alone bolstering his star power. Would we be wrong in thinking that Trejo might be the star, and Seagal the support, as was the case for Machete?

5. Would you ever be interested in having a fan competition to create cover art for the home format (DVD/Blu-ray) releases of your future Seagal titles? This has proven successful with several Arrow Home Video re-releases and even some alternative theatrical movie posters and may be a relatively inexpensive way of throwing some interesting new ideas into the pot.

I know I've repeated a couple of questions mentioned above, but I've tried to rephrase them to perhaps make them slightly more open to broader answers...

Some ideas:

- Is there a lot of action in FOE? Does it have mostly fight scenes or also other action scenes like car chases, explosions…?
- FOE is filmed in New Mexiko. Your movie “The Keeper” did have some great locations. Will we see in FOE some great locations too, or will the movie have limited locations like in “Maximum Conviction” ?
- Do you like to film in New Mexiko? Would you like to make movies there again?
- What are your favorite Steven Seagal movies?

Many thanks to Keoni Waxman for taking time to answer to our questions!

And thank you DiDa for your efforts!
