New update from Keoni Waxman (it seems nothing is wrong between Steven and Waxman & Co.)

Sorry for the delayed reply - been super busy prepping a new project. I'm just back in LA to finish post on 'Absolution' now - hoping to deliver it within the next few weeks - then back to my other project... I'm not sure about the status of 'Foreign and Domestic' other than it is supposed to be shooting in Alabama but I will ask Steven when I speak with him next...
Hope you guys liked 'A Good Man' and all the sword play. 'Absolution' has more hand to hand and gunplay/explosions and Steven and Byron Mann are great working together again. There's a bootlegged market trailer kicking around the internet somewhere that you may be able to find. It was slapped together before we finished cutting the film (for sales purposes) so it's not a proper trailer - but you guys may get a kick out of some of the action in it. Check in later for more updates.
Peace.
K
Thanks for sharing the information Mr. Waxman provides.

I know it - I can always on relay on DiDa! Enjoy the New Years Eve!

Lets see what Mr. Waxman will say. By pure accident I visited Voltage Pictures homepage again. Still no change. Even for other titles. I am no professional in ecomonics, but I am wondering how they are working. Is the company just being run by a handful of people, who don't know how to organize their work?

I am not sarcastic now. If they truly need help in their business, they should employ more people. I know more people will rise up the costs for staff, but if their online appearance is this just slow, something is really wrong. No enterprise, who is interested in being doing economy can allow such ill-ridden behaviour.

Not to appear extreme pessismistic, but what if ABSOLUTION is really an absolution? The final, last movie by Seagal?
I personally want to see more movies of course, but we all discussed the matter up and down, by more and more smaller movie parts, etc.

If ABSOLUTION should the last movie by Seagal, I hope than Seagal would concentrate more on his musician career. I want to listen more of his blues songs!

Yes, I have another update for you guys. From Mr Waxman:

Happy New Year to you as well. Glad to report that "Absolution" is finished and scheduled to be released in April so look for it soon! It's something different for Steven - as you guys will see...
Many new projects on deck for the new year... I have just finished writing and revising a couple with Steven over the holidays - one a big project set all over the world and the other a smaller project set in Puerto Rico - and I know he is still planning on doing "Foreign and Domestic" (I think it's been re-titled) soon as well...
I am heading back to Romania to jump back into "Blood Empire" (about Vlad the Impaler) and do a couple of action films while I'm there - and still working with Steven on trying to set up that film in Asia - so check back in a couple of months to hear how things are shaping up for 2015...
Peace.

This too good to be real. Just joking ;) I hope that we will see an US release in April.
The asian project and Puerto Rico are also very welcome.

Lets wait what 2015 has to offer. Voltage - it is up to you now, we are counting on you!

Not to forget, DiDa, you should receive a title of honoration. Who is with me? Even if I appear outgunned and outnumbered, I will be victorious!

Sounds interesting. Maybe Steven films "Code of Honor" and "Cypher" until summer, and later starts a project with Waxman again. The big project set all over the world sounds very interesting, hopefully they will get a decent budget for it. Puerto Rico sounds nice too.

I am sure that Foreign and Domestic turned into Cypher or Code of Honor. Waxman mentioned the title change...

I think your right COH and Cypher had similar plot lines however COH was written by Michael Winnock and Cypher by Seagal so maybe he has rewritten the screenplay also I doubt they would give Winnock 25M has his previous films have been very low budget

Thye Puerto Rico idea sounds good and it will feel like something different rather than Romania and Vancouver

Unless these new Projects has big budgets it will be the same usual boring standard stuff we will see again. "Foreign and Domestic" or whatever it will be called better have the rumored 25 million budget or they can kiss it goodbye

A big budget does not always mean a good film

For instance PW cost 7M and was shot in 17 days while ITS cost 20M and had a 5 week shoot yet I prefer PW

Pistol Whipped sucks. The script is boring Seagal's performens sucks and the production looks low as hell. Into is 10 times better and look 10 times better. Budget IS alwys impotent.

In that case Transformers is better than Taken

John Carter is better than End Of Watch

etc

Having a big budget does not mean its a good film

ITS for me was one of Seagals poorest STV...yes it looked good but it had zero action and a dull plot

Any chance of a waxman update??

Well, I contacted Mr. Waxman 4 weeks ago. Still no reply. I have the feeling that Waxman and Seagal are done, otherwise he would have replied. BUT, maybe he is busy and doesn't have the time to reply....will keep you informed.

I think the are just on different projects now, but could work together later again (at least Seagal and Waxman wrote new films together according to the message from January).

Maybe Seagal starts "Cypher" first this year.

You know, that doesn't mean anything. I've had that with a lot of Hollywood people. Remember their extremely busy and filmmaking is very taxing physically and mentally.

With Waxman, a few years went by between the time I first contacted him to do an interview on SWEEPERS and the time he actually re-replied and agreed to do that interview (which was a blast, candid, in-depth and full of stories)...

Funny thing is, he signed SWEEPERS on a pseudonym because beck then, he was kind of ashamed and didn't want to be typecast as action director.

Yep, guys. I have a new update from Keoni Waxman. He tells us why Killing Salazar was a last minute project for everyone and he tells us the story:

Glad to hear everyone likes Absolution! We really had a great time making that one. As you know I was going to jump into the Blood Empire miniseries but we ended up pushing that back so we decided to do another film here in Romania instead called Killing Salazar. It stars Steven, Georges St-Pierre, Luke Goss and Florin Piersic Jr.. Our friend Bren Foster was going to be in it but had a conflict with another show so unfortunately we will have to wait for the next one to work with Bren again.
Shooting is almost over - some really cool and crazy stuff going on in this one - sort of our version of "Smoking' Aces" - so yet again, something different for this next Seagal project. Seagal is the man in charge of bringing in a crime boss named Salazar who has decided to turn states evidence against his violent cartel. Luke Goss is the marshal charged with keeping Salazar alive. GSP is the man who is trying to kill Salazar - it's a pretty cool set up. Of course at the end Seagal saves the day.
We wrap in a week. Check back in with me then and I can hopefully give you further updates.
Peace.
