With several films in production, Steven Seagal continues to add projects to a list that continues to grow every week. This time, he found Keoni Waxman, one of his favorite directors (Their last film Absolution was notably criticized here.). Fortunately for him (? And for us), Seagal has not, according to rumors, a secondary role as the real stars of this project are Luke Goss (Blade 2) and Georges St-Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier ). In addition, the stuntman / actor Mike German Möller (see image below), which has several interesting projects awaiting Canadian output was seen on the set, but for now we have no information on its real participation on this project.Killing. Killing Salazar script is co-written by Waxman himself and Richard Beattie (Maximum Conviction) tells the struggle of a DEA team that is assigned to protect a dangerous drug dealer. So they find refuge in a luxurious hotel while awaiting extraction, the members of this team will be taken at the center of an ambush when the former partners of this criminal stormed the hotel.Killing Salazar, which has a budget of seven million, is currently in post-production and due out soon in stores DVD Québec.

Peace

Seagal is a professional martial artist and he needs a fight double. This doesn't sit well with me.

I know, but this is the deal with every action star now (Van Damme, Lundgren). It's not that they don't want to do it, but the problem is the tight shooting schedule. Before the main actors are on set they film the fightscenes with the doubles and mix the material with the fight that the main actors are doing. this saves a lot of time.

If you look at Skin Trade with Lundgren you see no doubles. Why? Because they shot for 2 months and had the time to choreograph the fightscenes with the actual main stars. It's all about budget and schedules.

For people that are saying that Seagal is not doing his own fightscenes, they are wrong. It's just that they shoot it 2 times (1st time with double for wider angles and after that with the main star)

For the short role that Seagal has in this movie, he could have taken the time to be on set for all his scenes.. I'm seriously starting to get pretty tired of it..

Yes me too!

With Waxman and since FOE, Seagal is just sitting on the movie poster and taking the cash. That's it!

Guys, EVERY actor has doubles on set. But in big budget movies who get a lot of time you don't notice the doubles. This is low budget, people! Everything is on a tight schedule and the crew should be happy if they even shoot all the scenes in time. We have to deal with it. You guys should check Pound Of Flesh. Van Damme is even more doubled there then Seagal ever was.

Yes we know. That's why we are tired.

I mean, FOE, A good Man, Absolution and KS are not Steven Seagal's movie. Like Mason said, Seagal's character appears sporadically, therefore when we are supposed to see Seagal we should see Seagal. At least, when he is just walking.

To be honest, it's not as if he doesn't want (or can't) do the 'walking' scenes. He's probably not asked to, and they are added in later to beef up the story. As Dida said, most movies have them (all the big stars) and I guess it's harder to double a 6.4" guy of Seagal's stature without it being noticable.
I'd prefer it, if Seagal actually stayed on set to film these scenes, but I guess the producers want him off the set as soon as possible (due to the budget, and his salary) so a lot of the 'pointless' doubles (i.e, linking shots) are not entirely seagal's fault.....they're probably shot before or after Seagal has left the set, by a second unit director?

Yes, and especially if rumours are true that Seagal only works 4-hours a day, which would make filming scenes with him very hard I would imagine. They have time to film only the bare essentials before he leaves the set.

Yes maybe but Seagal is not doing so much efforts too or he is not very motivated to do so.

Exactly, that is why I'm seriously considering to stop buying his films. He just doesn't seem motivated enough any more to make good films.
