I still have the original cut from Albert Pyun himself with his autograph. Very interesting to watch the movie how Albert intended it to be. Also great to hear his audio commentary. The studio really butchered this movie and Seagal's fightscene at the end is much better in Pyun's original version. Less cuts...

Would love to see the original version of Ticker before it was tweaked with so much stock footage. The audio commentary from Albert Pyun goes for stretches of silence for so long you'd be forgiven for thinking you've switched to the normal audio by accident.

Not a massive fan of Pyun but am definitely a sucker for Cyborg.

I can't imagine any version of Ticker being watchable. This one of Seagal's movies that I have never been able to re-watch. It was difficult enough the first time..

Yeah ...and considering it came right after Exit Wounds..thou' I think it was filmed before Exit Wounds as far as I can remeber.
I have an old Japanese DVD import of it and I noticed some scenes missing from the TV version, mainly that 'Ice Cube' character
; in the TV version it's him that gets kicked out he window during the only fight scenes at the end.

In Japane this was a theatrical release...even had a Japanese web page where you had to difuse a bomb.

Reminded me of the web page for Lawman that had an interactive shooting gallery

Remember renting the video and it being a big disappointment after Exit Wounds. It was just so cheap, looked like a TV movie.

Would be nice to see a different version though still, didn't realise the Japanese DVD was edited differently.

My favourite part is the tremendous green-screen when Dennis Hopper breaks heavy on his car and the background grinds to an instant halt.

So was that 'sparkler' movie 'Half Past Dead rated PG(US)...that pretty much ended his theatrical movie are.
Half Past Dead ended his 'rapper' era movies.
Amazon has a HD version of Ticker but I'd not pay to watch it....once is enough for anybody.

Yeah, the Japanese versions of many things(movies, PC games, etc) are censured...
I had a bootleg Exit Wounds from Japan(this was before downloading bootlegs was possible due to speed constarints)
and the whole bit with the topless girls in the bar scene was cut.

I remember being so disappointed by Half Past Dead when it was released in theatres! I had such high hopes for Seagal's return to form after Exit Wounds being so awesome and had unrealistic expectations. Now years later, what I wouldn't give for another movie like Half Past Dead if it mean't a theatrical release & a bigger budget

So did I(at the time) until I noticed there was basically no publicity for it....I saw one TV commercial for it 2 days before it release(which I think only lasted for one weekend), I guess that what happens when you do a movie for a no budget outfit. It did seem to have a decent premise with Deagal going into a prison but with a PG rating it became unrealistic. All the shooting and explosions and no one gets killed, no swearing...yeah right.
I'd like to know how Seagal got a black shirt when all prisons issue white ones.
Half Past Dead had a better promo on the internet...but even that must not have gone all that well...
they sent me one of those 'premiere showing' tickest and a shit load of those HPD stickers(I still have some)

Then the next film was 'The Foreigner' which was another dud like Ticker.
that film started all the cheap 'euro' location films.

I remember the nearest theatre showing Half Past Dead was about a hundred miles away from where I lived. And by the time I'd found that out, it had pretty much finished its run.

In fact the only two Seagal films I've ever seen in a theatre are Exit Wounds and Machete.

You watch Half Past Dead now and realise it's not so bad, certainly not in the same league of badness as the likes of many films we've seen since. The PG-13 was definitely a mistake, with glass breaking and sparks no substitute for the hard-edged Seagal badass-ness we're become accustomed to.

But it did at least have some decent action, a logical story and some excitement which is definitely more than can be said for Contract to Kill and Beyond the Law.

Still have my Japanese version of Ticker. It's okay. This was only Seagal's 2nd DTV (direct to video) movie. He had yet to perfect the craft of direct to video. Nas should have had more screentime. Chili from TLC also should've had a bigger role. Oh well.
