I took my son to the Tickfaw State Park & Nature Preserve, yesterday, He Loved it. We got our exercise then, too.... He rode on my back some, walked some and stopped at times to sit a few minutes.... We walked about/at least 8 miles on the natural hikeing trail and hardwood walking trail. I taught Jeb the name of many plants, animals, insects....and took pictures to make him a "Special Our-Time-Together Nature Trail Hike Book".
That way he could remember the names of the plants & other things I taught him, without taking anything out of its natural environment....like leaves from the plants & trees.... I can't wait to make him that book...It will be fun.... He will Love it, too... He loves books and loves to read... We saw aligator prints near the Amit River bank, but no aligators...They did come close to the surface of the river though, when I made the sound of a baby aligator callint its mommy... you could see there bubbles coming up from the water below and barely see what looked like an eye...the water was a little too merkey/muddy to really see the aligators good.... We heard and saw plenty of birds that answered me back, when I made their sounds...like Red Headed Wood Peckers, 1 Red Tail Hawk, 2 Spotted Owl, Cardinals, 1 Humming Bird, several Golden Fenches, 3 Fish Crows, etc.... I can see you are probably gone now, so I gota go now, anyway. Good to hear from you! I hope all is well with you !
Love Always Your Sister, Eagle/Stacey
