If God should go on strike

Here is a poem I found tucked in my mothers bible:

IF GOD SHOULD GO ON STRIKE
~by Walt Huntley

How good it is that God above has never gone on strike.
Because he was not treated fair in things he didn't like,
If only once he'd given up and said, "That's it, I'm through!"
"I've had enough of those on earth, so this is what I'll do."
I'll give my orders to the sun-cut off the heat supply!"
"And to the moon-give no more light, and run the oceans dry."
"Then just to make things really tough and put the pressure on,
Turn off the vital oxygen till every breath is gone!"

You know He would be justified, if fairness was the game,
For no one has been more abused or met with more disdain
Than God, and yet He carries on, supplying you and me
With all the favors of His grace, and everything for free.
Men say they want a better deal, and so on strike they go,
But what a deal we've given God to whom all things we owe.
We don't care whom we hurt to gain the things we like;
But what a mess we'd all be in,if God should go on strike.

well I wish he go on strike..

than al the wars end!!!
God has nothing to do with those wars. That is mankinds doing. God gets blamed for many things that man does. God(of the bible) gave man free will. What you see on earth..is their choices in action.

Some people believe in the Quran....where the book says to kill everyone who believes differently than you do. God(of the bible) says to love your neighbor. If your neighbor is without a coat...you give them yours. God does not say to kill all who do not believe in him. He sent his son Jesus to die on a cross for us, for our sins so we can be with him. It was a free gift. All we have to do is believe...trust...repent.( John 3: 16&17) I know I am not perfect. I put my trust in the Lord Jesus when I was a pre-teenager.

I believe if you take God out...you will get more wars.

Very well said.We are all born with an inert knowledge of what's right and what's wrong, even if a person has never read the Bible or had any religious teaching, they have a conscious and know if they are doing right or wrong and then it's their decision to make.If God controlled everything we did,he'd have a heaven full of robots, not souls who had the desire, and made the choice, to live as they should so they can spend eternity with him.We have nobody but ourselves to blame for the state of our world today.

Very nice poem how true.....God allows man to have "free will" and it was never in God's perfect plan for the sorrows of this world.
