If your player has no problems playing region B/2 then it sounds like you got a bad rip bootleg....
sometimes when they try and record multiple discs at he same time they get screwed up
--
Where did you purchase it form?
I'd get a replacement(they won't give your money back)
I don't think it's a bootleg. The back cover has a 3D hologram as you can see in the photo and the disc is not a BD-R. I bought it new on amazon from a third-party seller. I just sent a message to the seller like you suggested.

I got a response from the seller. I forgot that I actually purchased from MovieMars through amazon. (No wonder it took 10 years to arrive.) The person responding tried to act like I only have a Region A player and gave me options based on that. My email clearly explained the situation. I emailed back briefly re-explaining, but I've got a feeling I'm going to be eating this. I got it pretty cheap so I'm debating returning it at all. I dunno. I'll at least wait to see if they email back.

Oh.....one thing I've learned thru Amazon is never buy from 3rd paries UNLESS it's backed by Amazon returns...then you don't have to deal with the 3rd party at all.Amazon returns has always been fair , fast and responsible to me.
Sounds like a Bozo to me...it clearly states that it's a Region B/2 disk and anyway you have a region select player.
Also the seller misrepresented themselves by claiming it was a Region B, and now telling yoy it's a REgion A...that's proof right there.
I hate when people try to make 'us' sound like we don't know what we're doing.

This happens a lot with those multi DVD audio packages(Beatles/Hendrix/Floyd) that cost mega bucks...
somtimes all but one DVD will work, sometimes more than one, etc....but they simply return the item and get a replacement.
Apparently in the rush to get these massive sets out the manufacture by passes quality control.
I doubt you'll hear anything back to your satisfaction, they should've just said send it back and wel refund your money and apologise for mis representing the item.

I do hope I'm wrong and they correct the issue for you

Oh one last thing....look closely at the disc, do you see any mars or scratches?
You could try cleaning the disc....use water ONLY with a paper towel or something similar
wipe the disc from center to outward strokes...let dry completely and try plating it again....it could be a repackaged rental.

The seller was MovieMars through amazon. I think the first rep that contacted me just wanted to avoid creating a return shipping label. When I emailed back, a different rep responded and gave me a return shipping label so I don't have to pay for it.

Actually, they didn't represent the disc as being Region A or B. I think the rep was just trying act like it was an incompatible Region issue in order to quickly dispose of the issue. They should have clearly listed the region, though, because they're selling a Region B disc on a US site. I just happened to have a player that should have been able to play it anyway.

Cool..that's the kind of service I'm used to...you can even have UPS pick it up at your residence, so you don't have to go out due to the virus lockdown.

The region should have been posted in the description area, when I looked up 'The Keeper' I saw the region listed
https://www.amazon.com/Keeper-Blu-r...words=seagal+the+keeper&qid=1593249472&sr=8-2
or at very least being a US site it should have said 'IMPORT"

Glad it worked out.....I see The Keeper is not available in Amazon Prime anymore too...
which is odd....many of the newer Seagal flicks are free to watch(need Prime account)
it's a good way to tell which are good and which are bad.....the older WB('90s) flick all still have a fee..
apparently The Keeper falls into the 'unknown' territory...:)

The Prime videos are the source for the Glimmerman, On Deadly Ground and Fire Down Below HD versions.
It's possible The Keeper Blu ray is a bootleg like the above 3 other films are...I don't see any US listed except the DVD version.
Bootleggers are getting pretty good these days...and until Amazon is notified that they are selling illlegal copies they stay posted.
I read one of the reviews where someone said the quality was BS for The Keeper Blu ray.

Yeah...it's the 2nd or 3rd one in the list....the top one is the main page I posted
, if you click on either of the other 2 Blu ray options they show your cover....
it shows 3 Blu ray for sale(none US)...they all have the region listed as B/2

Yes, I see now it actually was listed as Region B. My bad. It should still work in my player, though.

Of course it should work, even bootleggers want to sell their stuff.
That's why I wanted to see if there was a HD version on Prime...to see if it was sourced from there.
Heck even the DVD version is only $3 new....kinda shows it not that great of a movie.
I'm sure I've seen it but Seagal has put out so many STD(6 in 2016 or 2017)
that I can't keep track of them any more.
The only one I actually liked was Urban Justice...had Danny Trejo in it also.

Well, I don't think MovieMars sells bootlegged items. Maybe I'm wrong, but that would be news to me.

I wouldn't say The Keeper is amazingly awesome, but I do think it's one of his better DTVs.

Remember quite liking it when it came out, then being disappointed with A Dangerous Man which seemed pretty rushed and cheap in comparison.

One of the best DTV movies of Seagal in my opinion. Sunny locations, simple story and Seagal seemed to have enjoyed his role. The action was decent too, although there could have been more. The ending feels a bit rushed, too.
Overall maybe not an action highlight, but it's one of very few of Seagals DTV movies I would show skeptical movie fans who think Seagal only made bad movies after Exit Wounds.

Apparently his character name changes halfway through the movie but have never listened close enough to hear it. Sallinger to Ballinger or the other way round.

The Keeper is indeed in the top 5 of his best dtv's. It feels like a real movie, with no editing tricks and other things to hide 'stuff'. It only could have used a little bit more action.
