Thank you for your sweet reply - you know we all go through our bad patch, we get the days that we rather 'not' get, but for me, being in touch with my SS friends really enable me to pull through, friends like YOU. Your kindness shines through and many times since I joined this site, it is your words of wisdom and your faith in the Hourglass, has really been very positive for me and has given me time to reflect on many goings on just in my life alone (a lot !) and supported me . We should have a venue like 'Friends' that we can all meet up to discuss our week !
    God Bless - Coleen
Now Sir James, have I seen somewhere that you are feeling down today- now come on over to my house, the home fire is burning (the logs are sparking), I have a glass of hot whiskey ready and why in no time you shall be dancing an Irish jig ! If that don't work, then we shall have to think of something to get rid of the blues ! (I am trying to think!) You got any ideas ?:D
From your humble Irish servant : Coleen O'Hara
    Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear that. But I guess we all have our own way of doing things. I do!!

You might be doing things "His Way", I am doing things the "Right Way" and I call it "My Way!!"

One of the greatest failings of the English language is that I have to use just one word to express many different things.
    I love pizza.
    I love my daughter.
I love talking with my friends.
One word, but it can mean so many different things. When we make that word a taboo because of one of its connotations, we impoverish ourselves and debase our feelings.
So, Chef Jim, the love I sent and continue to send to you is brotherly, caring love. So there. ;)

    LOVE

    Michelle
    Hi Jim

How did the Luncheon go? It sounds like an awful lot of work fell on you to organise things. I hope it went smoothly.

Good luck with the interview for a new job. It sounds like something more enjoyable if it allows you to use your talents more. I hope you get it. Keep me updated.

I took at look at snapfitness website. Oh I do feel tired now, my poor aching muscles. :D It sounds a good ethos, equipment you need without the trappings of some of the other gyms. My sister goes to a nice gym back home, if I move back there she'll take me with her a few times if I want. For now I'm making the most of having the time to go out for long walks even when it rains. It's getting cooler here and I've hardly seen the sun in a week, what's it like on that side the pond?

    Hi again Chef
How're things working out for you? Have you heard back about your job yet?
I really understand what you mean about adding hours to your days and weeks just to try to keep your head above water. It has been like that for me too.
And then I got to thinking.. sometimes we get so caught up worrying about the future that is becomes very difficult to pull back into the NOW. There are so many things to worry about and most of them are things that we cannot change or solve through our worrying. But we get so caught in the web of worry that we fail to see that, too.
There are many distractions in our lives, but we fail to see them as distractions. All the gadgets and toys and things that we buy and services that we use and things that we watch to make ourselves feel better, or more important, or wealthier, ultimately fail to make us feel any better because we never address the reason why we feel these needs in the first place. We don't stop to think about the beauty and the wealth that we all have within us - the capacity for love and joy and hope, the strength to carry on through adversity and to help others with their own journeys, the ability to laugh and smile and hug and befriend - that is the value of each person.
We need to remember that each human being is filled with an endless, renewable resource - the human spirit.
And the spirit will thrive in the NOW, and we gain strength from each other without it ever diminishing our own strength.
So to you, today, Chef, I send much love and friendship, and peace and joy, to use in the NOW or whenever you need it most.
    Peace

    Michelle
    Hey there Chef Jim

It is good to hear from you! Your kind words have made my day.
i am just off to a meeting right now, but I'll send you a longer message when I have a bit more time.
My positive thoughts are heading your way as I type this. I really hope that this job works out for you.

    Cheers

    Hey there Chef Jim

Myst and I have been wondering where you have been. Sounds like you have been busy.
I miss seeing your posts - they are so gentle and uplifting. I could do with some gentle uplifting these days too - I am feeling rather storm-battered.
I signed up today for six sessions with a personal trainer as it is my goal this year to get back in shape. I really enjoy going to the gym but I haven't had much time for the last...umm... eight or nine years...
I have also been back at aikido, twice a week, which is very very good for me, spiritually as well as physically.
I hope your chef showcase job comes through. You deserve to find something you love to do.
take care & have a great weekend

    Michelle
    Hi Jim
Never worry how long it takes to reply, if people do instant replies to me I run out of things to talk about. Not enough exciting things happening in my life to keep me talking but this week has been good because I went to stay at my parents house and I got to visit and catch up with friends, my jaw still aches from all the talking! It was an excellent time and made me feel very happy.
Sounds like you have been busy at work.
I don't go to a gym, it all looks like torture equipment! I go out for long walks so it's just gentle exercise for me, perhaps one day if someone holds my hand and takes me I will venture into a gym because I could do with a decent work out.
    Take care
    Sue
    :)
Hey Jim - haven't heard from you for awhile - everything OK I hope, just pop by and give us a yell !!
Hello chef how are you i hoop fine ,this along time

    Lutje.

    Hi Jim

I've always lived in urban areas but I used to think I was a country girl at heart. I am not sure which I am. There is a lot to be said for the convenience of living in towns but I like the idea of the peace of the country, and the smell of cows. :(
I don't have a London Fog Trenchcoat, I have a fleece that I wear whatever the weather so it's cold in winter. Perhaps this year I'll grow up and buy a proper winter coat like I had to wear as a kid.

Where your parents live sounds lovely and you must have got some exercise on that vacation.

    Take care
    Sue
Hey Jim - You gave me a good laugh this afternoon with your post. Currently, the sun is shining down on us irish folks here this afternoon, so you are the 2nd ray of sunshine for me !! I am certainly blessed.

Would you believe that I spent a good 10 minutes writing the ideal scene in Blarney castle, then as I went to post to you and guess what happened - I was asked to refresh my page and log in again. I did this and of course, low and behold, I lost my post to you. (don't know why I was asked this - did it ever happen to you ?) I shall have to rethink what I had written and post again. Could it be because my message was too long and they wouldn't allow it to go through ! Strange but true ........
Hi Chef ,Thank you for your nice words you say to me,
and i hope you come on the chat here my friend.
    Sincerely.
    Lutje.
