The Brown Ibis I saw, has a very Long & very Skinny beak with a slight curve. Quite a funny sight, when you see one. It was fishing for fish, in the front ditch by my drive way. I might go fishing with a friend this weekend... Still looks like rain but no rain yet, so will see. That will determine if we go fishin or not. Correction, that was not a brown Ibis but a "Glosy Ibis". I just looked it up N. AM. Bird Ref. Atlas.

I have designed a couple of unique bird houses but haven't built or had someone build them for me, yet. One day I will find the time. Yes, I will pray for the Sun to shine your way and I look forward to the rain.... May the day be blessed & full of Sun Shine, for You & Family! TY My Sister!!!

Hello My Sister! Have you ever heard of the Audobon Society? I Subscrib to their magazine, for years. They always have great pictures and articles, about birds and wildlife,in them. I think your father would enjoy that magazine. I have A National Geographic Garden Birds Pocket Guide, A year round Louisiana Bird Watching Book(Bird Watchers Digest), A Reference Atles To The Birds of North America, Firefly Encyclopedia of Birds, National Audobon Society Field Guide to Insects & Spiders, A Home Reference Library Insect & Spiders book, National Audobon Society 1st Field Guide of Fish, etc...too many to name... I think your dad would love reading some of thoes.

A Brown Ibis I have never heard of that one will have to look up to see what it looks like. Then I will laugh at the swordfish joke LOL. The sun finally came out this afternoon and got up to 79 degress. My Brother came up yeaterday and helped with putting up bluebirds box and another hummingbird feeder for my Father. My Father was so over joyed he loves any kind of bird. My Father spent alot of time in the woods in his youth and as a young adult before going into the service. He has had a very wonderous yesterday and today with us and we with him. Hope you and your childern are surviving the heat. Ill send you the rain and you send me Father Sun LOL. Sad day today I looked in the grill this afternoon and found the eggs gone I think she moved them. Where to I don't know but will leave nest there in case she or another bird comes along and wants to lay. Sad I won't get to see those wide open mouths waiting for worms. Hope you have a pleasent weekend.

My Father is feeling better his closest friend stopped by.Dad had a wonderful day!Well sister every morning I have looked in the grill and no eggs BUT tonight when I came home I found two eggs in the nest so I have downloaded them and as I said she add more hay to the nest BUT I have also found out that the bird is not a grackle but a starling! Iwatched as tonight when I heard a different bird call,There are 2 blue eggs in the nest! Can't wait till they hatch and see those mouths wide open wanting to be feed.Put up my Father's humming bird feeder at his home they have started coming around. Also a grosbeak has come by which 2 years ago it stayed for 2 weeks and left, they pass through very seldom, he has also brought 2 females with him this time I hope they stay for a for a little. Have to go now glad you took a nature walk and enjoyed it's wonderous beauty!!! It has been a good day my Red Tail finally came out from hiding. Bless you and your children.

Good Morning Sister!
I went on nature walk yesterday & saw new insects & plants I never seen B4 I saw new breed of short needle pine tress; puffy fungus growing on folage of oak leaves, below forest canopy not getting enough sun light; a very tiny water scorpin - looked like walking stick; 2 very unusual insects-look like gnats but had white & black fur on exoskeleton like a bee fly,on top of pond water. Took pictures, exploring-don't know yet, if some took; will find out later. I even saw 2 types of wood peckers-both w/red heads. 1 had white spots mixed n w/the red feathers on it's head- other 1 was bright red, white&black. Both very beautiful.! Got close 2the 1 w/wh. spots; tilted it's head 2look 4a few minutes,when I made sounds like it makes, B4 flying away from ground. Heard a RT hawk- never saw it.

Yes the Trace was a nice one of my favorite spots was not to far from where I began my trek in TN. I went down to a small waterfall and it was so beautiful all kinds of different flowers growing that I didn't reconize. The air was sweet smelling and the temp was at least 30 degrees cooler. I can still see it in my mind. Would have stayed longer in that spot if I didn't have my little sister tagging along. LOL she's always in a rush. One day she will relize the beauty that surrounds her I hope! The last 3 days my Father has been sick but his spirit is still strong. Body just wore out. Need to go now. No eggs yet. Busy Busy Busy here and weather has been real nice. Got a few things completed. Yes I have been on the Trace went as far as Tupelo National Battlefield-I was expecting to see a BIG battlefield and was disappointed they had a few monuments and a couple of cannons and that's all. MY Red Tail is still playing hide and go seek with me hear her but don't see her. Still no eggs I think she built another nest in the barn??? Need to get busy rain coming in Monday night still have things on my to do list for this weekend. Will take a long horse ride tonight after things are done. Bless you and your Children.

Well been busy for the last 2days, trying to get things done here at home. My little sister is up from TN. So not had much time to be on the computer. Red Tail hover over much today I quess looking for something to eat. Soaring very high!!!! I just watched as the air currents lifted it higher and higher. BEAUTIFUL. Went I come back to Mother Earth when I pass on. This is what I would like to be a Great Red Tail Hawk.
I have The Blue Herons that come over head but there are fewer and fewer. Alot of the ponds are drying up around here even though we have quite a bit of rain. The water table is very low so I shouldn't complain about the rain that we have been getting. Have a Blessed Day.

No eggs yet!! Hope they come soon, I sound like and expecting father lol. It has been beautiful for 2days now, but raining now. My Father recieved his Scotter Friday. I was surprised it arrived this soon. He did very well with it I was so pleased with him. Of course he'll have to practice some more should take him about 1 to 2 weeks to really get the hang of it. Next will teach my Mother. Have to go now. So many things to do inside today. May the Great Spirit Mother Earth bless you and your children.

Hi My Sister! LOL! She must be planning on having a lot of babies or she just wants to protect them well. Extremely Good Mother, any way! I can sound just like a redwinged black bird. We have them around here and I learned how to sound like them, while observing them out at Ship Island, out in the Gulf Of Mexico.... Went there a lot, for years to research and be at one with nature! I love it out there and miss it! My friends own the Ship Island Excursion Boat, in Gulfport MS, who takes passengers out there every summer. I can't wait to go with some of my friends this year... not as often as I would like. It's my favorit place, there and on the beach in GP MS. Good, glad you we have some pleasant weather to enjoy.

I peeked just a while ago no eggs yet but she has added more hay. LOL Don't know how big this nest will get!!!!! Red Wing black bird keeps hanging around when she there. Maybe wants to steal the nest??? Hope not. TOMORROW YES!!! SUNSHINE and 65. Need to mow my land again. Have a blessed evening.

Yes Mother Nature is amazing I can't wait till she lays he eggs am leaving her alone to do her thing.I do so hope she lays eggs. Will be well worth the wait. Rain storm and tornado watches here the last couple of days. Can't wait for the Sun to shine always makes me feel better. Have not seen my Red Tail in a couple of days but hear her calling.
