    Steven's Current Location

That’s amazing. Most 81 year olds I’ve known are, well, dead.

    The Tip of the Spear

If there was something else like Attrition in the pipeline I’d be interested but am distinctly unexcited about another Seagal / Waxman movie. Mostly because I pretty much know exactly what I’ll be getting. After the likes of Contract to Kill and Cartels, the latter so uninteresting it makes me...

    Reviews: Mercenary For Justice

To me it looks even more obvious than the famous copy and paste head from Shadow Man / Attack Force. Even the original gun-in-hand artwork was better.

    The Tip of the Spear

The only Seagal / Waxman film i didn’t mind was the first, The Keeper. For me, everything since has been a downward spiral of uninteresting, uninvolving, unmemorable tedium. Quite literally the only reason I watched A Dangerous Man, Cartels, Maximum Conviction, Contract to Kill, End of a Gun...

out for a kill thoughts ??

The first Seagal movie I remember truly hating when I saw it. Scratch that, the second after Ticker.

    The Tip of the Spear

If it’s going to be another Contract to Kill, End of a Gun or A Good Man, can’t say I’m that interested any more. Was looking forward to The Swordsman but is that one even happening? A movie just came out called The Swordsman so am guessing the title would have to changed it is. Wish he would...

Out For Justice uncut footage (and a few other '90s action films)

The website name rings a bell. They probably just meant the laserdisc was ‘uncut’ compared to the old UK VHS version which was cut for violence. Later versions restored material cut by the UK censors, but seriously doubt the UK laserdisc had any material the R-rated version didn’t.

Out For Justice uncut footage (and a few other '90s action films)

Full stabby scene from Showdown. There’s an uncut version of The Punisher on Amazon Prime but for some weird reason it’s in German language.

    Seagal vs Lebell

The last interview covers an apparent ‘pool room’ fight in On Deadly Ground with Seagal and Sven. There is a pool room fight but Sven isn’t in it. Seagal does fight Sven in a later scene but no pool cues are involved, just the animal bone club. Unless there were other fights filmed we’re not...

    A Good Man - Reviews

Would love it if, in one of these behind-the-scenes featurettes, there was a talking head who actually said it like it is. We tried to do less walking doubles, we tried to have some interesting characters for once, we tried to do a hand-severing without crappy CGI blood, we tried to not have a...

    Interview with director Michael Oblowitz!

Have to agree that Out for a Kill is pretty terrible. Reminds me of the original Slinger version of Van Damme’s Cyborg which was filled with out-of-place rock music and moody, artsy takes. Sure, it was the ‘director’s vision’, but totally unmarketable and not what the money men want. That movie...

    Seagal vs Lebell

Anyone who would believe the stupider elements of the story especially must be pretty gullible. As must people spreading it who were clearly not even there. Reminds me of the nonsense with Richard Gere and the hamster or whatever it was. The stunt guy in the interview above seems very genuine...

    Seagal vs Lebell

Don’t know if this has been posted yet but there’s an interview on YouTube with a guy who apparently witnessed it:

    The Patriot (now on Blu-ray!)

Never got the appeal of these book-style DVD releases. They look as if they're special editions but on closer inspection, most of the time they're no more spectacular than the regular DVDs. The book insert is just a glorified booklet and often ends up falling out of the thing the more you open...

    A Good Man - Reviews

Didn't enjoy it much, just more of the same in dreary European locations. The best fight scenes were generally the ones which didn't involve Seagal, which is pretty unforgivable. More CGI blood, more boring plots and a dead-on-arrival anti-climax by way of him not having anything which could...

    Operation Seawolf - Dolph Lundgren

He should have done it, even The Perfect Weapon would have been a step up quality-wise from a good deal of Dolph's recent output. Watched it again recently and enjoyed it, was just nice to see Steven in something different.

    Operation Seawolf - Dolph Lundgren

He was apparently supposed to star in The Perfect Weapon with Seagal but it obviously didn't happen.

Out For Justice uncut footage (and a few other '90s action films)

Showdown in Little Tokyo - the DVD I have is a European one which is uncut and has the full beheading, the boobie shot and the close shot of the big guy being stabbed in the baths which were all cut for the R-rating. The Punisher - have got the uncut German DVD - the 18-rated version which says...

    Operation Seawolf - Dolph Lundgren

Skin Trade was okay but pretty generic. Have tried with a few but just couldn't get through The Defender, Command Performance, Agent Red or Missionary Man. They were just too cheap and uninvolving. As with all the old school action heroes, they could still be great in a decent film with a...
