Know what's funny? I think there are some I don't agree with too. If you've ever checked out the top 250 on IMDB.com some of these titles will appear there too.

Yeah, I think Under Siege should appear on one of their top 100 lists at AFI. I know it would appear on my top 100 list. :)

I think all these "top" lists automatically feel they have to include Citizen Kane as #1 now. Sure, it was a great movie for its time, but I never did feel it belonged as #1. But then again, I'm not sure which one really deserves such an hour. I do like the Wizard of Oz, though. :D

Thanks for the list, ZenLateralus. :) I've seen these specials by AFI on TV and they're quite interesting, with quick comments by various people (many of whom you wonder "why them?" :D) and some great clips.

Casablanca - I did. Can anyone here read lips? The scene where Rick throws his ex-girlfriend out of the club - what she says and what her lips say do not match, and it's not a case of being out of sync - they overdubbed the line because of the Hill commission censorship thing.

My friend hosted a Casablanca party. We were to come as either actual characters in the film or someone who was likely to turn up at Rick's. I look ridiculous in a ball gown, so I adapted a costume I had made for another occasion, and came as a Moroccan houseboy who worked at the Blue Parrot, also known as one of the "usual suspects".
