Saw him in Southampton last night. It's a great band, and they all put a lot of effort it, but you couldn't hear the vocals at all. I'm sure, in part, it was due to the volume settings on his mic, but since there was a warm-up act immediately before, and the singer on that could be heard CLEARLY, I think a part of it is definitely dear Mr. S's voice, which is prone to sounding mumbly...

Shame because I do know some of the songs quite well, and it was only the backing girl whose vocals could be heard.

Still, he's an accomplished guitarist, and played for about 75 minutes, which is pretty good. No sign of him afterwards, but it was good enough for me. That's one ticked off the bucket list: see Seagal in person.

his mic was low in liverpool. no vocal at all on 1st song! he does mumble tho as we know :/

One thing I did notice was his accent, or rather lack thereof. Recently he's affected a deep Southern drawl in several of his movies, but actually, in person, he doesn't really speak like that at all. He speaks like he did back in the days of Under Siege / On Deadly Ground. So I'm wondering where this odd accent idea came from, and why it only exists in his movie personas...

Anyways, I repeatedly shouted Under Siege 3 at him whenever the opportunity arose (I was standing right at the front) which was at least marginally more useful than the chants of some of the others ("Go Mason Storm!", "Take me to the blood bank!") though probably equally funny, in that it'll likely never happen.

Kudos to him for his commitment to the band, though. It certainly can't be about the money - most of these locations aren't going to actually give him more than a few thousand - and, if it was, there was no way he would have played/performed as enthusiastically, or for as long.

Pity I was probably the only 30-something person in the audience, and that the 20-something barmaid at the pub a down the road had no idea who "Steven Seagal" was, in spite of the fact that he was playing that night, and was in the town newspaper!

If Seagal doesn't do US3, or commit to a few more mainstream cameo roles (Exp4, Machete 3) he's not even going to be remembered at the level of Norris (who at least has those ridiculous Norris jokes that everybody knows), in the future... although I've made a personal effort to change this by teaching my 18 month old daughter to respond to me shouting "Steven Seagal" at her by swiping her hands together in a circular motion a little like Seagal did throughout the fight scenes in The Foreigner.

i guess the accent, could be his way of detaching himself, when playing a roll? who knows?
he certainly wont make any money on these uk gigs. i didnt see any merch for sale, which is normally a great money earner for artists.

Didn't release that Sevastopol is in Krimea. There also was a pro-russian flag on the stage. Not a smart move from Seagal, regarding to the MH17 crash....

I was watching the news here in Holland and Steven was on it because of the fact that he played for the pro-Russian seperatists and received a shirt with Putin 0n it. They killed a whole plane with 300 people in it and Steven is playing for them. Not smart for his image.

Official statement from Steven Seagal about the concert in Crimea:

I am once again deeply saddened by the poor quality of some global journalism when inaccurately reporting on my concert in Sevastopol over the weekend.

There was no glorification of war or political motives during the concert which had been booked for many months beforehand.

Also it was incorrectly stated that I had broken US State Dept sanctions by ...traveling to Sebastopol but at present there are no prohibitions for Americans to travel to Sebastopol.

It was also reported that there were Radical flags placed on the stage whilst I was performing this is simply not true and we have photos & film proving this is inaccurate.

I was handed a T-shirt and I raised it up as a gesture of goodwill.

I am an actor and a musician and we were there for the love of Blues music and nothing else.

I want to thank the organizers and all those decent kind peaceful people who attended and enjoyed both the music and the event.

Sadly we live in a world where any form of innocence can be twisted for sensational headlines and maybe dark political motives?.

However I feel both my loyal worldwide fans and other free thinking people know this was just a good old fashioned blues concert.

Love and peace to you all

Steven Seagal

I was there as well (at the Dutch gig)! It was actually a surprise gift from my friends (they know I'm a Seagal fan). I didn't know 10 minutes before the start. :p

Great music! While I usually listen to electronic music, I really liked it.

Too bad I couldn't get an autograph. It was too crowded. But it was cool that Steven came to his fans who were waiting for him outside. He also had the chance to step in his car right away.

Here you go. :D I took one of my business cards and got lucky.

I wanted to take picture with him, but too bad it was too crowded for that. But...

I noticed that his band is not always the same. In The Netherlands he had a drummer, basguitar, guitar, keyboards and 1 background vocal (sexy lady by the way ;)). If you look at other pictures from his concert sometimes there are 3 background vocals and an extra guitar player. Also sometimes there is another drummer.

...we waited a little longer (after Steven and the rest of the crowd had left) and asked the staff if the beautiful singer was still there. She was! She, and the drummer, were happy to step outside for a chat and a picture! :D (There are more people on it, so I can DM it if you want to see it.)
