That list was rubbish - imagine placing Seagal only at number 24 - he should have been at least at 5 - he is a true action hero - one who can really fight and really shoot unlike Damon who poses as one - and where is Van Damme and Norris and Lundgren and all the other true stars who can really fight - I didn't even recognise some of the people that were in there.

Van Damme, Norris and Lundgren! You're right, NCS! Where are they?
Bruce Lee #11 and Steven at #24? How absolutely ridiculous can anyone get?
Shall we not forget Tom Cruise? :)gun: Oh, brother!!) As for Keanu Reeves?
He does very well with wires! But.....Bruce Willis???? Come on!!!
On the list...maybe, but #1? Give me a break!!
That list is so screwed up they ought to chuch the whole thing and start all over again. Only this time have someone, compile a list, that knows what they are doing!!

Good to see there was three females in the list ..good to see Sean Connery got an mention and what about Russell Crowe iam chuffed to see his name there and Sigourney Weaver ...

Mystery Mom

Queen of the Mist
Let's start our own list!

#1 Steven Seagal

Next person add a name and we shall see how many we can come up with.
You can change the rank of any other person's choice except for # 1

Keanu Reeves, Matt Damon and Uma Thurman are some of the greatest action heroes? None of them can fight. What happened to Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson?
My list would include Seagal, Stallone, Arnold, Eastwood, Norris, Lee, Bronson, Willis as the greatest all time action stars. Even Brandon Lee is better than most on that list they compiled. What a joke of a list. Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune are pretty good additions as well. Toshiro was the ultimate Samurai and great star from Japan. Seagal did the fight choreography for him back in the early days.

Mystery Mom

Queen of the Mist
The Seven Samurai

That was the first action hero movie for me. I first saw it on an old B&W television in the early 1960's when I was living in San Diego. Wow, I'm getting old if I can remember that far back!

Scared the poo out of me when he came down with that sword on the marauder's shoulder and the head fell off. Certainly beats the bloodletting movies of today, but one that stands the test of time.

I believe the original was about three hours long. Can't run movies like that on commercial television today. I don't remember if it was captioned or not. No matter the story was quite clear and understandable. Would like to see it again someday.

Toshiro Mifune was one of the stars. Wow!

Now we have:
#1 Seagal and in no particular order:
Bruce Lee
Brandon Lee
Arnold Swartzenegger (sp)
Clint Eastwood
Sly Stallone
Chuck Norris
Charlie Bronson
Bruce Willis
Lee Marvin
Toshiro Mifune
And someone wants to add Matt Damon (spoilt baby)
Jason Statham
Sean Connery
Van Damme probably should go on the list but he give me the willies, uuughky
Dolph Lundgren - he reminds me of the hulk without the green
and someone is sure to bring up Vin Diesel
If you want to include old-timers there is always the original Marion Michael Morrison, who should go into a category all by himself.

Anyone else?
Myst

So they can't fight? Maybe they don't have a martial arts background, but they endured a lot of training (some even months before shooting) to make the scenes look fluent and natural.

But this isn't a question about fighters, it is about action heroes.

Seagal is definitely there, so is Statham, Damon, Stallone, Schwarzenegger (retired), Van Damme, Chan, Li, Lee, Norris, Dacascos, Lundgren.

Peace

I'm sorry but I just dont consider Uma and Damon and keanu some of the 25 greatest action heroes ever. Just my opinion.

Have to agree about Matt Damon and Uma Thurman - they have good editors to thank (as well as directors, etc.)

However, the Bourne trilogy of movies is truly a favorite of mine. I can watch them over and over and over. Plus, Moby's soundtrack is just awesome.

Oh, and the blow up of the building in Venice in "Casino Royale" is terrific.

I'd love to see Steven do a movie set in Paris or Prague. Is anyone else tired of Vancouver?

M:i 3

What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!

M:I 3 was the easily the worst of the Imposssible series. (It was also the lowest grossing). The action scenes were also direct rip-offs from other movies - the escape of the villain was almost identical to the causeway chase from True Lies and the ending was identical to Dennis Hopper's death in Speed only without the blood and originality.

Bruce Willis once called Entertainment Weekly a joke. Now I know why. :(

Whahahaha you can't mean this EW.com. I say one word: Unbelieveable!
Where is: Tom Berenger, Chuck Norris, Wesley Snipes etc. :S...
Antonio Banderas isn't even on a right place in that Top 26 :S. Same reason for Sean Connery!

They also choice: Anne Parillaud from La Femme Nikita :S, then you can much better choice for: Peta Wilson or Roy Dupuis, from the TV Serie of LFN, that was much and much better then the original film!

Whahaha and the biggest joke, is that you can't browse normal between pictures, a min. ago I had to click 3 time on the Next button :S.

But thank you LBC for the so much fun ;)

take care you all

Much energy and love take-sensei

Yes precisely, only M:I (part 1) was good.

By the way Bruce Willis is very right in that argument, I mean fact :D

My list would be:
#1 Steven Seagal (for everything, but mostly for his character, martial arts, films and quotes ;))
#2 Tom Berenger (for The Substitute and Sniper I, II, III)
#3 Al Pacino (for all his movies especially The Godfather serie, Carlito's Way, Heat)
#3 Clint Eastwood (for Dirty Harry, Make My Day Punk... :D)
#4 Jason Statham (of course for The Transporter I and II, also for Snatch and Crank!)
#4 Charles Bronson (for Death Wish 3, it's pity he doesn't live anymore :()
#5 Dolph Lundgren (for Blackjack and Universal Soldier)
#6 Vinnie Jones (for of course Submerged, Gone In Sixty Seconds, Snatch etc.)
#7 Aidan Quinn (for his role as the terrorist Carlos in The Assignment)
#8 Michel Qissi (maby, only for his role as Tong Po in Kickboxer)

and a few more! etc.

Lord of Snaps

I REMEMBER YOU!!!
I believe Chuck Norris as JJ McQuade in his greatest film ever, Lone of McQuade, should be at the top of the list. I suppose we should all be thankful they included El Mariachi himself, but where is Paul Kersey from the Death Wish's? The 3rd and 4th are the greatest!
