So, as promised, I read through the book that Seagal co-wrote. The Way of The Shadow Wolves. It was a rather short little novel, at 220 pages, with fairly large letters. For me, this is good, because anything over 200 pages is liable to start to feel a bit stale. In terms of theme, I'd say it was a combination of Fire Down Below, and The Patriot with a dash of Shadow Man. My guess is that Seagal wrote the action in the book, and the dialogue, with the other co-writer coming up with the story. The story follows an Arizona Indian cop who stumbles upon a far reaching conspiracy. The political messaging in the book does not strike me as Seagal's, but who knows. The political messaging in the book is quite obviously American neo-conservatism. The cartels, for some reason, are in league with ISIS, which is for some reason in line with Iran, which for some reason is in league with the US. They're smuggling terrorists into the US.
