Hello
We all know Steven Seagal would like to do a third “Under Siege” movie, but in interviews he said that he is still searching for producers.
But to be realistic, actually it doesn’t look there will be one and I don’t think he will get enough money to produce a big budget cinema movie.
On the other hand, he already worked with director Roel Reiné (and for a lot of fans the movie he made is one of Seagals best in the last 10 years), who is a specialist in making great direct-to-video-sequels of cinema movies (“Death Race” 2 + 3 or “The Marine 2”). This movies had little budgets around 5-7 millions, but looked much more expensive. The action scenes are also great in this movies.
What would you say if Seagal can bring together around 12-15 millions (a bit more than the usual Seagal-movie) and hires Roel Reiné to direct a third “Under Siege” movie? They could film in New Mexico for example, which is a decent location, and shoot maybe around 2 weeks more than usual. They also can cast some solid co-stars like Danny Trejo, Byron Mann or Darren Shahlavi.
Of course it probably won’t go to cinema (or only limited) and will going straight to DVD, but there is a chance that it will be a pretty good and action-packed movie though.
What is your opinion? Do you think he should try it this way?
Best,
Martin
