A Single Man (2019) - Steven Seagal (filming)

Jackcole145, but this has the reasonable explanation, he should earn for his family life.
I agree but considering his work in politics and music I think he is doing fine for his family. I don't mind him doing a movie in Romania but I hope that he will be putting more effort in his acting and fighting like he did in Attrition.

It's very hard to get some info about this project, but Seagal is still filming.
I understand it has been difficult finding out information for this new film, but since Seagal is off doing meet the fan events, do you know if that means filming has been completed? Also, have you been able to ascertain a story line for A SINGLE MAN? Thanks for all your reporting :)

No, I don't have any info at all. Very strange. He could be returning to finish the shoot, but I doubt it.

So I finally have some info about this project! And it is not so interesting...

I had a short chat with Keoni Waxman and asked him about this project. He told me that he and his crew are not involved in this project, but he knows that it is some sort of an independent movie (indie movie) and that Seagal only filmed for 2 days. So he is not playing the lead in this movie.
That also confirms what one of the stunt man told me....

I doubt we'll see any more releases from Steven this year (if at all?)
Personally, I think he's done with headlining films nowadays? The budgets seem to getting lower and lower (plus I don't think neither he, or Steamroller have the time or inclination to secure funding anymore?) Nowadays he seems more content to attend seminars and partake in Russian envoy duties (which are probably in all likelihood, more profitable for him?)

At very least during the mid 2000's, you could keep tally of his DTV sales....primarily because they existed on physical media and sold in accordance to charts.
Downloading/streaming has really put a nasty dent in the DTV market (and the 365Flix 'fiasco' didn't help matters either) leading to his last few releases being stuck in distribution limbo (China Salesman, Attrition, etc) and it's unlikely that General Commander will buck this trend (largely due to the fact that it's not exactly a masterpiece, and at best, cobbled together from an aborted TV show)

Half the general public probably assume he's either retired (or dead) and the other half have likely gave up on him (due to more than a few duff releases) leaving it solely to the die-hard fans to prop up his career (and sadly, I don't there's enough of us to warrant or even co- fund the future of these movies anymore...however low the budgets?)

Just a shame he's accepting supporting roles in low-budget stuff, instead of looking towards more mainstream releases....he could easily see out his career as a big boss type in some Fast & Furious / Expendable style movie (or something similar?) :(

The problem (as always) is Seagal.

(not trying to be negative, just realistic)

Agree with all you say there, Lee. I watched a bit of a Seagal film on dvd the other night from 2009 and I remember thinking when I first saw it "wow, this is so poor and no budget" but when I watched it again I was like "wow, it actually looks like a proper film with a decent budget compared to what he's done in the last couple of years" haha. Such a shame his film career is going to end with a whimper and not some memorable role in a big movie even if in a supporting slot.

He just needs to accept a role in a big movie. SLy wants him for for The Expendables. He should do that...
DiDa, It wouldn`t happen as we heard from interviews. I believe he needs a cooperation with skillful producer with talent to forsee and raising funds.

After all the bad publicity he has had in the US/Worldwide whether true or not certainly has not helped his career. It was already on a downward path for the last while with only a few decent movies released in the last 20 years.

Personally i think he can still have a success, but he needs to put a bit more effort into it like he did with Attrition for it to work.

These movies where he turns up, performs a few scenes then disappear are a waste of time as usually they only get him in to use his name in the credits or on the cover to sell the movie. Obviously a nice little pay day for a few days work, but if people see him in these low budget offerings after thinking it is mainly a Seagal movie, they probably won't buy another Seagal movie even if it is decent.

Whether true or not?

We all know here that the rumors are true.

Whether true or not?

We all know here that the rumors are true.

We think we know that they are true. But since someone should be innocent until proven guilty we will never know for sure since the justice department hasn't made any case against Seagal, they have investigated but (unlike Weinstien and such) have dismissed all cases uptill now. They usually do not do that if there is a solid case. So either they deemed it not true or they couldn't find enough evidence (even the multiple accusers testimonies don't appear to be enough)

Sure there are enough reports and talks about it, even from co-stars which make it highly probable but still not proven.

I mean even an accusation by Kayden Nguyen supposedly right after the alleged incident never made it to court and no settlement was made.
As far as I am aware there is one case regarding the filming of Out For Justice where there has been an out of court settlement. Although this could be seen as an admission of guilt we should remember that Seagal was in the prime of his career at that time and probably just wanted it out of the news a.s.a.p.. Furthermore I know from my work experience that sometimes accussees will take a settlement (without confessing guilt) over a court trial due to cost, time and unwanted exposure.

So to blatently say "We all know.." is wrong. "We all believe.." or "We all think..." would be better, but are we/you sure that everybody here thinks/believes/knows this?

I myself think there are way too many stories about Seagal that there probably will be some true, not all, but at least some. However I cannot prove it so I could be wrong.

Peace

I´m not only talking about the sexual harrassment allegations. I´m also talking about his behavior on the set. He hurt stuntmen many times by kicking them in the groin and so on. Nearly every actor/actress who worked with him said that Seagal is a huge asshole.

Being an indie film let's hope they give Steve a different role aside from the typical tough guy, even tough, for sure, it will be the same as always. Just brainstorming here.
