ADOPT A SOLDIER-OR A SAILOR
When Pamela Bates of Fort Benning, Georgia realized her husband, a
Sergeant in the 10th Artillery Regiment was being shipped to the Middle
East; she had to do something to fight depression.

That's when she started the "Hugs to Kuwait-Adopt a Soldier" program,
and since it's debut on January 4, Bates has arranges the "adoption" of
9800 troops with 18,000 people from every state and 11 countries. The
site keeps her busy 16 hours a day and she’s assisted by a disabled
Vietnam vet Mitch Dunn, and his wife Sandy.

Thanks for the site. I think it's a great idea especially for soldiers that have no family to write to them. I only hope that people don't abuse this system. There are so many "psychos" out there.
