Hi, I'm recently arrived here as a new member, and so far, I've spent 'way too much time surfing the gallery, when I should be working!

I'm also a recent convert to Steven Seagal movies. Wasn't interested in seeing any of the films during the '90s, don't know why because given a choice between preposterous action adventure movies and silly romantic comedies, I'll take the action flick every time.

Anyhow, here's what happened: work over the past six months had been scarce, not to say mostly non-existent, to the point where I actually had to apply for welfare. I also hate where I'm living right now but I don't have the resources to move. I was stuck: I couldn't fight my situation, I couldn't run away from it, either.

Then TBS Superstation ran a Steven Seagal weekend, which comprised of The Glimmer Man and Out for Justice (and, I think, Above the Law, as well, but somehow I missed it.)

Golly.

I mean, wow.

Then I lucked into a deal which gave me five free rentals at the video store and so I scurried down and rented The Glimmer Man, Exit Wounds and both Under Seiges, which I then ran pretty much on continuous loop for 5 days.

I felt much better, I can tell you. Getting to kick ass vicariously was tremendously satisfying, even more satisfying was watching Steven Seagal do something I would never otherwise approve of doing myself (but don't I wish I could)....

I live in Toronto, by the way, and I was grinning from ear to ear watching Exit Wounds, and kicking myself about moving away from the downtown core. The scene shot in the Grand Touring Automobiles (which is a real auto dealership, and I was briefly acquainted with the owner thereof in another regard some years ago) was just a few blocks from where I used to live (amazingly, it's in a really skanky part of town).

Anyhow, I'm hooked. I'm just now waiting for B&N to send me the first four Seagal dvds I ordered.

Oh, and just after watching all those Seagal movies in one lump, work suddenly started to pour in, and now I have almost too much work! (at last!)

Maybe he's a good luck charm, as well!

Thanks, all!

So far, it's been a lot of fun, and I'm enjoying reading through the forums.

I really, really have to stop surfing the gallery, though... so many pictures... so little time....

:D
