Ascendant Consciousness

Ascendant Consciousness is the experience of the conscious mind settling down into its own essential nature. The self within is quite literally indescribable The cristian has done as well as possible by calling it "The peace which passeth human understanding" Philippians 4:7 and John 14:27.

The Muslim call it the Kusuk (Spelling may differ but pronounce as Ku Shuk). In Japan they call it the Satori & in India they call it the Samadhi. Psychologies call it the "Peak Experience" that artist and musicians get when they are so focus and in a different state of mind. This experience is the 4th major state of consciousness, distinct subjectively from the waking, sleeping and dreaming state. Rhe ascendant Conscious lies beyond the normal experience of the Waking State. The name is irrelevant, the experience is everything.

The experiece of the Ascendant is not enlightnment, but it is required to grow into enlightenment. The description here are only the nature of enlightenment. Attempting to move ahed in counsciousness by not learning a technique to is impossible -- that would be rather like attempting to build a working electrical system and wire a house by reading a text on the nature of electricity.

Hi Pantera

Hi Pantera,

Words are very limited I can only say as close as i can but the experience of it far exceeds our vocabulary. Ascended consciousness is the inner experience of Infinite Awareness that also experienced outside, as the essential reality of everyone and everything. Meditation is a science for overcoming the self-destructive and limiting beliefs and internal programs that keep individual life bound to the experiences of the waking state of consciousness.

Meditation is not a belief system, a religion nor even a philosophy it is methodology for systematically expanding the conscious mind. This is not a mystical or even a difficult process. Perfection is within every human. Given the fact, it is surprising that so very many have failed to realize this.

Scientist have estimated that the average adult thinks some 50,000 thoughts every day; these are almost without exception concerned with past or the future or the distant. There is little or no experience of life as it is Now and Here. Everything to be understood about the transformation of life from suffering to permanent happiness, from failure to success, from ignorance to enlightenment is to be found in the present instant of time. Nothing can be done for the past, it is over and nothing can be done for the future for it never comes; all that can be done is to make the present ideal. Then the future will take care of itself. Life is meant for freedom, joy and continual progress.

How is this to be accomplished? By freeing our experience machinery from bondage to past experience. Union with the universal Higher Self is easy to accomplish; it is only necessary to turn the mind away from noise of the internal programming and experience the perpetual peace of the present instant, already present within. It is the peace in all of us that pass human understanding.

Psychologist Abraham Maslow described as the peak experience. This is a radically different style of functioning of the nervous system. It is characterized by internal silence, clarity, joy and prefect fluidity of effective, life-supporting action. We find that it naturally occurs in moments of intense absorption the “jogger’s high” the “zone” of many athletes, the mystical union experienced by painters, composer, artist at the moment when intense enjoyment or focus starts and all the subsidiary, random, chaotic movements of the mind still and consciousness experience itself, one without a second.

It takes the average person repeated experience of consciousness without thought moving to recognize exactly what this ascendant consciousness truly is.

An analogy might server to clarify this. Consider a movie. Image after image flashes across the screen, giving the experience of continuity. The screen is not seen because the mind is focusing on the moving pictures. But if the film were to break the projector light remain on, the screen would suddenly become visible. This can be very surprising if the involment with the movie is very intense at the time.

This experience of Pure Consciousness without thought. When the thoughts still, consciousness experiences itself without boundaries. Merely turning off the projector as analogous to sleep, for the movie is not experienced and neither is the screen.

This is not something new is has been here since the dawn of men. All the prophets and the men of God that came before our time were leading humanity back to the source, the return to innocent. All the holy books serve as a guide but the experience is everything.

Namaste,

thanx for the explanations. i think i never experienced something like that. I often try to get rid of the toughts which trouble my mind, 'cos' in buddhism it's something you must do to be in peace with yourself. The problem is more i think i wanna get rid of them, more they stay in my mind. But i do keep on trying. Especially, i've been to a conference of a buddhist monk living in belgium where he talked about meditation. He gave tricks to be able to a "free mind", a "clear mind". I try to practice those tricks. When i really focus, those tricks seem to work. But i must admit that i don't practice it enough. It' something i should do several times by day. I should take the time to do it. But one of my problem in life is a problem of time. But my personnality is getting better and better and as everybody say me : Rome hasn't been builded in one day.
Anyway thanx for having enlightened my mind on the subject. If i misunderstood it, tell me. But i think what you were talking about has a big relation with meditation.

Hi Pantera,

I remember when i first started out i did not know what it was all about and that was about a year ago. But it was becuase i had a desire to be close to God and wanted to attain that peace that spritual people talked about. That lead me to search in different path till I found a technique that works. There are many path one can take which one will get you that only you will know how?

(Points back to your heart) Follow your heart always. My life have change so much that i get to really live in joy and love. The goal is that don't matter what happen always focus back to that stillness do not engage the mind on the level of the mind it only gets stronger. Surrender! still the mind, remember your not a slave to the mind you are the master of you own. Learn from the mind, contemplate. Be the knower and not the reaction. Always ask what you heart says and follow it.

Practice will only get better the more you do it the more you will learn to master youself. Then your world will change. Be present always. 20 mins meditation in the morning before you wake for a busy day. 20 mins in the afternoon after lunch. and 20 mins before you rest. And you will see alot of changes in your life. In term of famliy, finance, charity, love life, you name it.

thanx for your teaching, I'll try to follow you advices (which are the same than those of the monk i often see). Thanx also for sharing your experience. You're right about the fact that i'll feel better in acting the way you explain. Indeed, i already star working on me some month ago and i can already see that things are going better. The doors seem to open in front of me and i sleep so much better. I almost have no more white nights (except when i've got a bad cold). I'm not as stress as before but my biggest problem is the time. I wake up at 5.45, leave home at 6.30 to go to work and i come back home between 8.00 and 11.00. so i've got busy day. But it doesn't borre me. So i'm not stress and i feel good.
I do believe in what you say and my life is better in many points: family, finance, job... So i enjoy the present day and try to forget the past and try not to think to much at what can happen in couples of months.
Thanx for your good advices and best wishes.

Hi Pantera,

Praise God that you already started to walk on this path, I promise you it has only just began :D. What i have said here is already in you. I thank you for sharing your experience of the divinity in you Namaste. Continue this journey and you change your reality and starting living your dreams. I am already living my dreams and i wake up and see the perfection and miracles of life that unfolds in every moment. One teaching i learn is that don't matter what you experience in life. Being Good or Bad always focus back to the peace of God in you. Don't label or judge the experience. Don't break that connection with your creator and you will see heaven on earth.

Pantera,

Thoughts will always be there. If you try to get rid of them they will only persist-do not fight them just let them be. In observing the mind one finds that there is a space between thoughts. Once you find that space and are able to still the mind-you're there. It's as simple as that.

Remember it is called the middle path for a reason.

Wayne,

What will you do if while meditating or while guiding someone in meditation you/that person's consciousness gets lost in the formless realm?

The dalai lama comes in Belgium in june to give a teaching of 5 days about this subject. Of course i'm interested but as it's a big event it's very expensive. Furthermore you have no choice that to buy a ticket for the 5 days 'cos' it's a full teaching. But maybe i'm lucky this time 'cos' i met someone who's working for this event. when the time comes, i'll see if she can give me a ticket. Otherwise it's probably written that i can't go and i have to be patient and wait for another opportunity.
Anyway thanx for your advices too.

Wayne,

What will you do if while meditating or while guiding someone in meditation you/that person's consciousness gets lost in the formless realm?

Hi Jalu,

Great Question. Well you cant get lost in the formless realm i speak of. To get lost means you got lost in the experience of that realm, the experience of it is a by product of this formless realm. It is all about surrender even that experience. The ego does not know surrender. To the ego surrender is capitulation, loosing your self, dying. And truthfully for the ego it means death. Surrendering your precious experience to the ascendant inside and to the ascendant outside (Teacher) destroys the private universe of the ego instantly. There is no room for anything but the pure truth of the ascendant to exist inside and outside and then the sweetness of union becomes realised in the individual experience.

I share my experience of that relationship because for me it is more important than anything else in my life. That is a place where I can culture a relationship with my Self in its totality and culture surrender to the will of God and move quickly into being the doorway and a Teacher of consciousness. It is the divine grace that directs the show, not my personal preference or demand.

Surrender is the master key to unlock the door of everything. Surrender implies that you surrender to something outside of yourself that is greater than what you know or experience. The ego can never do that. It will cling onto the idea that we are the same and the ascendant and so why would I have to surrender to someone else. This is where the rubber meets the road. Being fully self-realised means that you have actually walked through the veil of ignorance and seen it for what it is. This is not the same as concocting your own dream and idea about it.

Without surrendering the reality of duality to God and fully embracing it you cannot free yourself from it. Pushing the illusion away by intellectual ideas and by holding onto exalted experiences does not transform duality into the Reality of the ascendant. Only surrender does.

Wayne,

As far as I know the formless realm is the formless real both for Hindus and Buddhists. See description below:

Formless Realm
Beings of the Formless Realm are free from attachment and exist free from location and form. They only suffer from their death and from being born in the lower realms. This happens when there is no karma left to support this existence.

This realm is subdivided into four levels of meditative concentration:
Infinite space
Infinite consciousness
Nothing whatever
Neither discernment nor no discernment

A birth in the Formless Realm will take place after achieving the same state of meditative concentration (Samadhi) during meditation in the former existence. One enjoys this state of Samadhi a state without any sufferings. But keeping this state without developing Vipasyana doesn't lead to Liberation, but to a birth in the Formless Realm. One can remain in this Realm for millions of years, it is very pleasant but of no benefit.

Just so you know people do get lost in the formless realm-I have seen it.
In one occassion one of my friends was found in full lotus in what is best described as a catatonic state. Higher meditation practices is not something that anyone should attempt without the guidance of a realized teacher. This person is an experienced meditator, and he was on his six year of retreat when it happened.

Now what I am asking is... how would you solve this situation should it arise?

Would you say that you have experienced samadhi?
