So, will they finally start filming in a few days?

Currently, according to his Facebook, Donnie Yen is in Thailand for 10 filming days of his movie "Chasing the Dragon".
I wish he would meet Seagal there. In the late 90s they already talked about a film project, according to an old Donnie Yen interview.
But of course, it's highly unlikely that they will meet.
I hope they will ask Tony Jaa for one of the upcoming projects.

I don't know if they actually start filming in a few days. They are going to work on the movie again in a few days. Could also be pre-production.

It's really sad, it seems to be delayed again. He only made one movie this year so far. He seems to have a lot of movie ideas, but nothing goes into production.
It probably wouldn't be surprising if a new Waxman movie will be filmed before "Attrition" now.

No updates. I don't want to ask Kaos about the movie every week. He told me that it is going to happen for sure, but that it takes a bit longer before they can actually start shooting. We just have to wait and see, I guess...

I have an update from Kaos:

Nothing to update except Steven is back in Bangkok and we're putting everything together. Will take some time. Not sure how long. Many different factors in play. He's basically taken this year off to concentrate on these next few projects he's been developing. He's only shot one movie earlier in the year and as you know he usually does a few of them. This was his decision. I will keep you posted.

Ii still have my doubts has to if this film will happen...reminds me alot like Prince of Pistols which also never happened

that said if he is willing to take a year out to make a film with a good budget/more shooting days etc it will be worth it

Hmm I have my doubts regarding this movie. I tried to contact Wych Kaos about the status of the movie and he isn't replying anymore. Although I know that he read my messages.......

This is from B&E productions (they also produced Kickboxer Vengeance with Van Damme)
Could this be about the 3 movies Steven wants to shoot in Thailand?

Great lunch meeting at Momojein on our Steven Seagal projects with Ryan, Bey, Sharon Zhang and Tobie Van Reeuwijk. Stay tuned for more information.

Finally some new info guys!!! I just talked with one of the producers. This is what I can tell you:

Attrition IS HAPPENING! They are in early pre-production now and the movie should shoot in Thailand the first quarter of this year. They are looking into Sensei Seagal's schedule towards him directing. The producers hope he will direct. Attrition will be a serious martial arts movie with some drama and the occasional ironic humour, what audiences want from a Seagal movie. They are casting now and the only one confirmed for now is Steven Seagal.

Now I also now why Kaos isn't responding to me anymore. I asked about Kaos' involvement and it seems they are still talking to him about his involvement in this project. It all depends on schedules. I also asked about the budget and the producer confirmed to me that Attrition will have a bigger budget compared to Seagal's dtv movies!! They also want to make more movies with Seagal in Asia, but the focus is now on Attrition.

I will keep in contact with the producer.

Check out the interview I posted in the "current location thread". Steven said that he has 2 movies coming up: Attrition and Ten Stains. He even says that he starts shooting Attrition probably within 10 days from now....

Well they don't need a script.
  • Plot is written, Steven Seagal is retired FBI/CIA/Delta Force agent.
  • Bad guy is a Romanian/Bulgarian/Russian gangster.
  • Seagal helps young woman. Scene in strip club / bar where they meet.
  • Lots of gun shots, cars blowing up. No helicopters although always on the cover.
  • Stunt double films majority of movie. Walking up stairs slowly so they can get the movie to last over an hour.. Kills the main bad guy with head-shot or neck snap-age.
  • Then Seagal turns up with goatee / bandanna / leather jacket, mumbles a few lines and we get some close up head-shots so we can see it is him appearing sometimes. Then goes home with nice pay check.
  • We look for a trailer the day filming ends.
  • Movie is released, we moan about it for a while.
  • Repeat

Hmm, for the first time I have the feeling this one will be different, although I can be wrong. Steven is more involved in this one. He also did a location scout and is also involved in pre-production. We will see, but it's nice to see a Seagal movie in a different location then Romania or Bulgaria.

They are trying to do more movies in Thailand, the first being Attrition. After that the movie Ten Stains and I can also confirm there they are trying to do a movie with Seagal in Asia called Swordsman.
