I make a reading list each year, I log in to the university's recommended reading list and pick out some of them!
I have more books than I will ever read! I am suppose to be reading The Devanci Code! At my son's request! This looks to serious to me but I will give it a try!
He will probably make me take a test!

I did read Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, that was interesting! It showed how most people can not make a decent salary and support a family!

Good thing he is staying on campus and going to summer school or I would probably be spending my whole summer reading!

I'm going to start "The Damnation of Theron Ware" by Harold Frederic. I picked that up at a book sale at the library. I kind of have a summer re-read list: "The Life-Giving Sword: Secret Teachings from the House of the Shogun" - Yagyu Munenori, "The Way of Aikido: Life Lessons from an American Sensei" - George Leonard (that's a cool book) and "Walden" and "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" by Thoreau. I had to read those in school, but when you have to read something, you kind of miss the point. I've read a lot of Maeve Binchy, however sometimes her stories are kind of the same...they start in 1950's Ireland, a group of friends, betrayal, that sort of thing.

Remember I been reading the book :
15 minutes
Today was flipping the tv remote channels & came across this movie & the wording & actions of the bad guys made me stick around & watch..sure enough it was the movie "15 minutes" so I taped the rest of it!
Good timing on my part :)

I've been working my way through my collection of Sue Grafton's "alphabetical" mysteries. I'm up to "Q is for Quarry" (skipped "M" because some time back I got rid of the hardcover, and haven't bought a second-hand paperback version to replace it yet).

I think "R..." was just released - have to check out the second-hand bookshops, or (gasp!) get a library card.... (I'm notorious for not returning library books. I think I'm on the TPL's hit list - "shoot on sight", or something! I tremble to think of the dues I owe...)

I also have several boxes of books that were sitting in my friend's basement for fourteen years to sort through and figure out which are keepers and which aren't.

We were so late at the library and owed so many fines, I just collected a huge box of books and carried it and said "can we make a deal" , yes they cleared it all up!

i agree with you. i prefer reading a book before seing the movie. It's what i did with harry potter and the lord of the ring. i had read all the books before having seen the 1 st movie of each.
But i also read a lot of book in english. The one i'm reading now is in english. I really like this language. Now i'm waiting to be strong enough in dutch to read books in dutch. At least i can already read the paper in Dutch.
I didn't read this book "secret window". what's the story?

I just finished reading A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and I really enjoyed that. That was a few weeks ago so who knows when I'll pick up another book and what it will be.
