How many of you on here can play an instrument?? It's always kinda fun to see what different people play.

As for me, I can play one of the funnier instruments, the tuba (aka sousaphone)!

Tubas and sousaphones are two entirely different instruments.

I used to play violin and piano. I started young, but my parents didn't care much about encouraging me in these pursuits, and by the time I was old enough to pay for my own lessons (with my own allowance money, and later, money earned from summer jobs), it was too late for me to acquire any real proficiency at either one. So, perforce, I had to give them up. A regret that will linger to my dying day, because all of my teachers said I had real talent.

By the way, Psychobitch (long story, told long ago) STILL has my violin, and there's no sign she's ever going to give it back. Grrr.

I play the keyboards and the piano, and a little the electric and acoustic guitars. Also the programming rythm boxes or virtual drum instruments if you consider that an instrument.

I admire your ability Latino. That takes talent. My limit is Frere Jaque on a piano!

Thank you very much, Storm.I don´t know where it´s the thin line between the talent and the everyday work playing/writing and thinking every minute in music, maybe the start point, the dreams, the child´s illusion.
With motivation and a little day by day work you´ll never have limits.

Take care, all the best

A little bit of guitar but I'm learning. :) :)

Dear Mason, do you know The Real Book? It´s great to learn to play GUITAR or PIANO with it great standard songs.I recommend too The Complete Beatles Songbook.

Trust me, I´m a proffesional musician and teacher, and the most important thing an unnoficial Steven Seagal fan brother:

WAY OF LEARNING:

15 minutes EVERYDAY(not only four hours on Saturdays, always daily training, 15-20minutes enough, AND I PROMISE TO YOU THAT IN SIX MONTHS YOU CAN PLAY AND SING ALL THE BEATLES SONGS!!!!(And if you have creativity you will write your own songs too)

If not, i will return to you all the money you spend(That it will be a couple of bucks, you can learn without being a richman)

AH!!Only one thing more, buy a chords books for the logical doubts in some chords.

1-Choose the song you want to learn(The best choice is a song that you have heard before)
2-Practise smoothly the chords you are going to play
3-Play,play,play
4-Play,play,play and sing,sing,sing,sing
5-Play,play,play,sing,sing,sing,sing and ENJOY,ENJOY,ENJOY

LOVE

I play the guitar. About 13 years now. My teacher was superb, he is now the Guitarist for Craig David (British R and B singer, very famous here) and he also played with Rick Wakeman. I play a lot of different styles, and enjoy also playing blues too. I have great respect for Seagal, he's a good player, and has a very unique and strange way of playing, similar to Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits)

Best guitarist IMO: Joe Satriani, an absolute genius, crosses many styles makes sounds come from a guitar you couldn;t even fathom and he plays amazing stuff.

Craig David is great, and Rick Wakeman..from YES!!!I love 70´s symphonic rock...You had a great teacher, then

Seagal has like a bass way of playing guitar, maybe because he started with drums & bass when he was very young, it´s a little bit extrange to see, but very interesting. He has background in the music.

You can listen songs co-written an d produced for him and Todd Smallwood since 1991 in Out for Justice

This is an album he did with another great guitarist called Dave Kilminister. My guitar teacher, Fraser T Smith is on the right of the cover. You can listen to clips as well.

It;s a really good album a blending of classical, blues, jazz, flamenco, but just about great playing and creating great sounds from just two acoustic guitars. I got given this album for nothing and always listen to it for relaxation.

plus a copy available on ebay for next to nothing, it ships world wide and is well worth it for anyone with a love for guitars.

Flamenco...it is the only thing the foreigners(Not Spaniards)can´t to well.

One must be born in Andalucia, Spain, and must be called Paco de Lucia to say that play flamenco.

The rest of the influences, like Steve Vai, Satriani, and all that club...Everybody do the same. The play superb, but is very bored.
