Dear NYC Seagal fans: "Contract to Kill" will be getting a one day theatrical release.
Cinema Village will have showings at 11am and 11pm. Fri 12.09
https://www.cinemavillage.com/showtimes/#

Cinema Village
22 East 12th Street, New York NY 10003 | (212) 924-3363

I will be attending the 11pm show. Only a single day theatrical release is very limited!
Both "Absolution" and "Code of Honor" had 1 week!! Oh well at least it is Seagal back in theaters if only for a day.
I was not able to watch "End of a Gun" in theaters because it was playing too far away upstate.
Was able to see "Absolution" & "Code of Honor" in theaters 3 times each!!!

What a difference a year makes! Absolution was decent. But
"Contract to Kill" was subpar to say the least. Needed more action and less talking!!
Too much talk and too little action. Had high hopes for CTK after I enjoyed "End of a Gun".
Very disappointed with the lack of action. Russell Wong co-starred in the movie, but still. CTK lacked Seagal Action!!
Can't recommend Contract to Kill at all. I almost fell asleep! CTK made me a little drowsy/ sleepy.

End of a Gun was much better than Contract to Kill. Seagal released 7 movies in 2016 and only 1 was okay. 1 out of 7 is not good.
Seagal should focus on Quality rather than quantity. I am very hesitant to watch any new Seagal movies in 2017 & beyond.
End of a Gun could be the last Seagal DTV movie that I will ever enjoy.

Let's face reality, Steven Seagal turns 65 in April 2017 which is officially a senior citizen. Age is nothing but a number so long as you exercise and eat healthy.
That being said, I honestly believe that this is it for Seagal (end of the road). He just can't do these action movies like he used to (unless he loses weight).

If Seagal was smart, he would have branched out into other film genres such as: drama, comedy, animation, & etc.
Seagal could have still acted in movies that didn't require physical action.
Seagal should retire from action movies and perhaps try being a producer or director again.

Sorry for the bad news fellow Seagal fans. 2016 has been a horrible/ terrible year as a Seagal fan.
2016 was by far the worst year of Seagal's career as far as movie production quality.

Let's recap 2016 shall we ... Killing Salazar, Sniper: Special Ops, Code of Honor, The Asian Connection, The Perfect Weapon, End of a Gun, and Contract to Kill.
ALL GLORIFIED SEAGAL CAMEO APPEARANCES (with the exception of "End of a Gun").
I just can't follow Segal's work anymore. I'll continue to be a Die Hard fan of Seagal from "Above the Law" to "End of a Gun".
I am done.

Sorry to hear Bklyn, you have certainly put up with the turkey movies this year if you watched them all. So far i haven't been able to watch one. Got Code Of Honor as i had high hopes for it, read some reviews and they weren't good. Watched first 20 minutes and gave up with it. :(

Overall out of the DTV releases i only have a handful which i would recommend to anyone to watch, the rest are dreadful.

The budgets are only going to get smaller and smaller as more and more fans stop buying/renting these movies.

Personally now i would rather re-watch the likes of Marked For Death, etc than get bored to death with these crappy new movies.

Contract to Kill actually had a 1 week release!! I saw online that Cinema Village was still playing it on December 15 (because I went to see a pre-show of Rogue One). So correction! CTK had 1 week limited release here in NYC!!! Same as "Absolution" and "Code of Honor".

Yeah I know right. The trailer for "Code of Honor" was really Awesome!! I had high hopes for CoH as well. Oh well, I still have been unable to watch "Killing Salazar".

The Fight Scenes in CTK are exactly the same!!! Same old style you know. They cut off Seagal's head because of the stunt double. Same fight scenes from the waist up only (trying to hide Seagal's weight). We know Seagal is big, there is nothing to hide. Seagal actually has one fight scene where he is sitting down and fighting!?!!? Idk. CTK was ALL TALK and NO ACTION!!!

Honestly, the last 2 Seagal movies that were decent were "Absolution" and "A Good Man". "Absolution" co-starred Byron Mann and he made up for the lack of Seagal hand-to-hand fight scenes. Then "A Good Man" co-starred Victor Webster who also delivered some fantastic Action scenes!!

Keoni Waxman can no longer make Seagal look like an Action Hero anymore :-/
