Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan have been cast in Ex-Baghdad, directed by Scott Waugh.
Jackie Chan (Rush Hour, Shanghai Knights) and Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, The Expendables) have joined the cast of the upcoming film Ex-Baghdad, according to Deadline. The duo will be directed by Scott Waugh (6 Below, Need for Speed). The film has a reported $80 million budget, making it one of the largest-budget films out of China. Ex-Baghdad will be produced by Chan though his SR Media alongside QI Jianhong and Esmond Ren from Talent International and Hans Canosa. The film will be financed though both companies. The script is written by Arash Amel.

Here’s the synopsis for Ex-Baghdad: “When a China-run oil refinery is attacked in Mosul, Iraq, a Chinese private security contractor (Chan) is called in to extract the oil workers. He learns, however, that the attackers’ real plan is to steal a fortune in oil, and teams up with an American former Marine (Stallone) to stop them.”

Sylvester Stallone is known for his work in the Rocky franchise and The Expendables franchise. He wrote a number of the films as well as directed them. Stallone was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay for Rocky in 1977. He can currently be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Jackie Chan is an accomplished martial artist known for his acting work in films like Rush Hour, Shanghai Knights, The Karate Kid remake and The Legend of Drunken Master. He is the voice of Monkey in the Kung Fu Panda franchise and the animated TV series The Jackie Chan Adventures.

Scott Waugh is known for directing Need for Speed, starring Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper, Act of Valor, and the upcoming 6 Below, starring Josh Hartnett and Mira Sorvino. He’s also worked on stunts in everything from the TV series Sleeper Cell to the films Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Princess Diaries and Coyote Ugly.

Loved all the old Jackie Chan movies, but haven't seen anything special in the last 10 years. Skiptrace was boring and Chinese Zodiac was not much better. Wow nearly 20 years since Who Am I? !

So I guess Expendables 4 is certainly over for Sly....

Just because Sly and Chan are doing a movie togheter, dosn't mean that The Expendables 4 is over for Sly. Nobody even knows when the Sly Chan movie starts production. It could be this year and it could be some time next year. If Sly really wants to do Ex4 he will do it.. So Ex4 is certainly not over for Sly.

I hope so! But I have my doubts....
