I was not here last night and I am sorry to hear about your leg Serena. I hope it doesn't hurt to much. I know what you mean about trying to act younger with kids. It never worked for me. I know you enjoy your work, but it's nice sometimes to have some time off. At least you can sit and be with us here. Hope you have a speedy recovery. You have always been a good friend of mine and being part of this great family. Get better soon.

Suzi, Heather, Kathy, Jalu--You guys are just great!! Thanks so much for all this. :) I feel like maybe I should just go out and break it or something to really deserve all this attention. :D

Actually, it's feeling better this morning and the swelling has come down a bit. Must be all this TLC, eh? ;)

Glad to hear it's getting better Serena.

Let us know what movies you end up seeing on your day off, that is if you do get to see any.

Actually I feel bad that I read a mention of Serena on crutches yesterday morning & thought she was joking-until I saw this thread last night :(

Don't worry Serena-if you need an arthoscopy I have a drill and a nice rubber mallet for ya!

Amos has the Tim the Tool Man Taylor approach to everything!

-TD, preferring the Red Green method - fix everything with duct tape!

I love Red Green! :D
Must come from having relatives from Canada, eh? ;)

"If the women don't find you handsome,
they should at least find you handy." :D

And The Man's Prayer:
I'm a man,
but I can change.
If I have to.
I guess.

"Keep your stick on the ice."

Taking notes, guys? ;)
Too funny!! :D

No movies today, I'm afraid. :( We had four inches of snow today and decided it was too risky to go out, so I'm hopeful tomorrow's the day.

Do people really LIKE doing this all day, every day, this sitting around, doing nothing? :D Then again, if I had some movies, maybe I could get used to it. ;)

Thanks again, everyone. I think it might actually be slightly better. But then again, I really did have an excellent day today ;), so maybe that helped.

Snow? I'm having to run a fan where I am. I love the snow though, I wish we got some once in a while. We got snow sometimes back home, I loved it. I used to do a paper route in the morning, I'd get up about 4.30am, nobody else was awake. When it had snowed the night before, the whole town would be covered in a perfect untouched carpet. 5 or 6 inches thick. It was picture postcard.

It's probably a good thing you didn't venture out today Serena, I think snow/ice would be tricky in crutches.

When I was 16-17, two of my brothers had paper routes. I used to get up with them on snowy mornings as you've described and drive them on their routes. See, you really missed out on having an older sister. :D

But you're right--it was like a picture postcard. :)

Good thing you stayed in Serena, you don't need another injury!
Gosh, so many people get hurt out in that slippery weather...
Be careful, and I really hope you won't need the surgery...

Well, as for the sitting around the house... I can tell you from first hand experience it sucks when it's prolonged! Not having had any work from mid-October to mid-January, I spent my days looking for work and the longer I didn't find any, the harder it was to get motivated to look. Sounds weird, but it's actually very depressing not being able to work - and me, I was sound of limb, and so had no excuse, other than the fact that there wasn't any work for me!

Mind you, in my neighbourhood, there's a lot of people around here who are adept at doing nothing all day long and have no problems with it at all (hence why the local bars are the only businesses in the neighbourhood that make a profit).

-TD, grateful she's got a little flurry of work, though not the avalanche she was hoping for
