Think about going to that place and telling them what you believe and convince them that it is the way they should think when their culture has dictated that this very thing does not exist and the whole idea of God or Gods is just mythology. I imagine it being very difficult to say the least considering it is difficult enough as it is in a culture where we are aware of God and/or Gods. Maybe you could think of it as a Christian walking into a country where they believe the Phoenix is their God and trying to convince them to beleive it isn't true.
I personally believe that we are told from a young age that certain things such as God and the devil is true and that this is the way everyone should believe and as we grow we learn that these things are not necessarily true. I believe we convince ourselves that events in our lives are perpetrated by an all knowing presence when in actuality events happen for other reasons and not because of a God or Gods. This is not something etched in stone for me but it is where I am at right now in my thinking. ***just thought I would share that to explain some of my questions to the readers of this post.***
Misionaries HAVE died trying to share their faith in countries where there is no faith in any god. I just saw a commercial for a movie that was based on a true story, where some misionaries where killed. The natives to the country in the movie looked like they were from the jungle where outsiders very seldom go.
I will get back to you on the title of the movie.....
