After 2 whole years they will release the movie. I hope the waiting will be worth it, since Seagal's role is merely minor.

If your a Eads fans, then yep......1st leading role in a major movie otherwise he's best known on TV in the CSI series.

Honestly. I want to watch the movie only because of Seagal, Lang, Carrere and Jones. I probably won't purchase at first, but this decision will be re-done once I watched by myself.

Eads is probably a fine actor and CSI is probably a fine series family, but I never watched it. Time and other responsibilites kept me away from it.

I think we are pretty much seeing the part of Seagal's role in the trailer....:)
I doubt there is much more....

'Gutshot' Seagal extended scene:

Funny, it looks like he is putting more effort in his dialogue in this movie then the movies where he is the main star.
Love his accent in this scene. It reminds me of Gino Felino from Out For Justice...

"This time, for this ‘Steven Seagal movie’, I was prepared. I was going to actually count the seconds that he appeared in the movie. After all, it’s being promoted as a Steven Seagal movie with Steven Seagal on the poster and ‘extended clips’ being released with Steven Seagal in them. Seagal appears at the start of the movie for around 50 seconds. Then, for the next 70 minutes, he does not appear again. In the last 10 minutes or so, Seagal is featured for around 4 minutes, with some of that footage re-using footage from the start of the movie. So the first thing to point out about this movie is that if you’re a Steven Seagal fan, you’re being conned. And Steven Seagal is complicit."

"I will say though that this is Steven Seagal’s best performance in years. He’s doing his Bronx accent again and looks like he’s actually interested in playing the role. Dare I say it, Steven Seagal plays a convincing mob boss. He should’ve done this type of thing before, earlier, and in a fuller role in a better movie."

This is exactly what I thought after watching the clip. He should put this kind of effort in his own movies!

Exactly I found his play very descent in this scene and by the way he looks more confident than Eads. So this must be firm reply to those who suppose him not to able to play varying characters. Yes he proved to act not worse than JCVD and Lundgren, which itself is great thing for me. I think the nature of this transformation is in competitive atmosphere within the set of this movie. So I`m sure now he has enough skills to handle with more serious production than his cheap DTVs.

Opening scenes 'Gutshot'
NOTE: Seagal's name is not in the opening credits
end credit has
Paulie Trunks:Steven Seagal

The movie is called 'Gutshot'...not 'Gutshot Straight'

So they changed the Opening Credits, they removed Steven Seagal's name, added some different music and changed the movie title.

This is the original opening credits!

That may be the theatrical version....using Seagal's name to try and draw more ticket purchases. Seagal is still a 'selling' point in Japan and elsewhere.....remember what was done with 'Executive Decision' in some countries.....they used his image on posters and even some VHS/DVD releases.

The movie itself is okay, good production for a DTV movie, and good acting. But besides that, nothing really special. Seagal has 4 scenes in it where one of them is an extended scene from the opening scene. It is actually the two scenes posted by J.Lucas above. Dont expect Seagal to throw any punches or anything, his scenes are 99% dialouge. Must admit though, I really like his character, and his character got the name Paulie Trunks for a reason :p :D
Would wish that Seagal got more of these kind of roles, productions and budgets, but with fight scenes and alot more screen time. He is born to play a mobster.

I have always wanted to see Seagal play a role in a mafia flick or play a mafia enforcer. Back in the early 90's he was in the process of making a Mafia Flick called "Man Of Honor". It was already cast and in production when at the last minute the production was halted and the staff and actors were actually paid for their time. I remember being so pissed off at the time because it was a movie I was so looking forward to seeing.

Oh no! German blu-ray is releasing Gutshot Straight with cover artwork from True Justice!! This is so misleading!!! First because they have been marketing episodes of True Justice as movies when we all know they're TV shows. Then they use True Justice artwork to show some kind of Action, when the main theme of Gutshot Straight is about gambling and playing cards. What a shame smh ...
