The films plot is as follows:
**SPOILER ALERT**
The story is set in vegas, and concerns some small-time gambler jack (George Eads) who is known throughout the casinos as a loveable rogue (who always seems to fall short of winning the big money) he owes money to everyone, including loan-shark, and ex-mobster Paulie Trunks (Steven Seagal) whom he visits a couple of times for advice. Despite his debts, Paulie has a soft spot for Jack, but is not averse from sending his 'debt collector' Carl (Vinnie Jones) to remind him of the money he owes. Jack is divorced, and has a child (who he rarely visits) also. One night in a casino, Jack strikes up a conversation with an eccentric millionaire Duffy (Stephen Lang) who offers him a chance to make a lot of money, but is cryptic about what he has to do to earn it. It turns out that Duffy is a bit of a pervert, and offers Jack $20,000 to sleep with his younger wife, if he can watch (yipes!) Jack is attracted to her, but equally disgusted by the offer, and refuses, a scuffle breaks out and Jack accidentally kills the millionaire. Duffy's wife tells Jack, that she'll dispose of the body, and he thinks that's the end of it all.....until he realises that he's left his wallet in Duffy's mansion, and things are further complicated when the dead millionaires brother (Ted Levine) turns up asking questions (and clearly smelling a rat)
Once again, Jack turns to Paulie Trunks for advice.
The synopsis sounds exciting, but the film is shot like some dull made for TV movie. Even at 82 minutes, I found myself sleepy and checking my watch throughout. The UK cover-art for this movie market it as some kind of action movie, with exploding cars on the case (and DVD menu page) the only action I saw was a few brief scenes in a MMA gym (where Seagal's character operates from) and 2 gunshots fired at the end (I won't divulge who is on either end of the bullets) As previously mentioned Seagal is on hand for 3-4 scenes (although he interacts well with Vinnie Jones in a couple of them) but it's not enough to warrant you spending good money on (however big a Seagal fan and completist, you may be) I paid 99p for mine (and thats probably a fair price) if I were you, I'd wait til it goes down in price, or in a sale, etc?
Hope this helps?
