Twitch, an inmate at New Alcatraz, gets himself transferred across country to an even tougher, more violent penitentiary. He's caught between two rival gangs fighting for control, and although he wants to avoid trouble and make parole, he soon sides up with one of the gangs. His long-time fiance, Cherise, comes for a visit with plans to break off their engagement, and just as Twitch is about to mend their relationship a riot breaks out and the prison goes into lockdown. The leader of one gang, Burk, is wrongly blamed for killing a rival gang member and both he and Twitch have to form a shaky alliance in order to stay alive.

That's just dumb. Is that also how you judge a new Seagal film these days?
In that case you probably havent seen his latest DTV's.

Never judge a book by it's cover.

I have seen his latest DTV's, my friend, and believe me, I have tried to like them too. But they are, to put it mildly, utter garbage. I'm sorry for expecting better from the once great martial arts movie star who gave us films like Marked For Death, Out For Justice and Under Siege. His latest movies don't even come close. Why is this movie even called Half Past Dead 2?

That's what I'm saying. You did see Seagals latest movies, and they do suck.
So whe both agree on that point.
But you didn't see HPD2, so how can say it is bad, when you haven't seen it yet?

I will probably rent it, and after I've seen it I can judge it for what it is, not before.

Because there hasn't been an original thought in
the motion picture business in over 40 years, that
could be one of the reasons! They are even making
remakes of the remakes now!! What does that tell
you?
God bless,

Glimmer Man is right.

A wrestler AND a gangsta rapper in one movie, come on?!

Haha - did you see Universal Soldier: The Return with Goldberg?

OK big boy. I look forward to your review. :D

It's a crying shame about Seagal's latest offerings, like. I remember how excited I was going to the cinema to see Exit Wounds like it was yesterday. That, for me personally, was his last really good movie. Some of his DTV's have been decent attempts, but none of them have managed to live up to the early stuff.

It's true, mate. I'm surprised Seagal ain't on board for this one, it will probably do OK. All the kids who like wrestling and the wannabe gangsta punks will flock to see it like flies around sh*t.

I agree. I watched The Eiger Sanction the other night - now that is one class film, the way movies used to be!

Heather - I went to see a movie called GONE tonight. That out in your neck of the woods yet? It's set in Oz. It's about some psycho yank backpacker who befriends tourists before going caveman on them. It was a pretty cool chiller, sort of like a cross between The Hitcher and Wolf Creek. Very satisfying.

Actually GOLDBERG is a pretty intense individual..The guy is phsyically a mountain of a man...He has made a few appearances in other action flicks- even stealing the show from Van Damme In Universal Soilder 2.

I mean it will probably be bad...But Goldberg is the old 80s action style guy with big muscle and 1 against 1000 tendancies....Big time action movies have moved far away from that style and so this is probably the only type of DTV that would be in his future.

don't talk crazy, Goldberg didn't steal anything. If anyone stole the show away from Van Damme in Unisol 2 it was Michael Jai White. All Goldberg did was stand around and grunt.
