Maybe this is in the wrong forum, but I think it pertains to Sensei. I had heard a while ago that Jeff Speakman had blimped up big time. My buddy works for this (now defunct) kenpo magazine and said that he had received this picture in the mail:

It was from some journalist who had a story about Speakman and his battle with some disease called SLCD... Has anyone ever heard of this? If there's any validity, any chance this might have something to do with Sensei's weight issue? Personally, I doubt the validity of the photo, but it might carry some weight (no pun intended)...

It's a good thing his mag tanked, or I think this definitely would have been published. He does say he has others, though. I'll see if he'll send them. He's sort of weird.

But even if the photo's a fake, what about this disorder?

Can't find any kind of reference to it, googling. Maybe one of our nurses know. I think it's fake, as well.

This is one of those "gospel true" things that come around the e-mails from time to time, as a lure for the gullible.

My advice: trash it.

I have heard about this disease before, i believe it has something to do with body fluids (no not that one) .
You keep gaining weight and there's nothing you cab do about it, there's no cure for it so far. (correct me if i'm wrong)

I was thinking that Steven maybe had that same disease, untill I realised he slimmed down alot for Exit Wounds, so i guess he's very lucky not having it.

That's a very portly Speakman. Can he even fight in that shape?

the pics are fake, I've seen pics of him as recent as a few months ago and he doesn't look like that.

When you enlarge the picture it becomes obvious that it is a fake.

His head is disproportional with the length of his arms.

He does look a lot fatter then I remember from his movies, but this proofs without a doubt that the others are fake!

Sorry my friend, that is a fake picture. Sensei Jeff Speakman is no where near the weight he is portrayed to be in those two pictures.
