DMX ARRESTED
Hip hop star turned Hollywood actor DMX has been arrested on charges that he and another man tried to steal a car at JFK Airport in New York.
DMX, real name Earl Simmons, and Jackie Hudgins were arrested last night (June 24) after police interrupted a dispute between the two and another man whose car they allegedly tried to steal, authorities said.
The pair were arrested on charges of attempted robbery, criminal impersonation and criminal mischief.
The BBC reports that Port Authority spokesman Tony Ciavolella said a preliminary investigation indicated that DMX may have identified himself as a federal agent.
It’s not the first time DMX, who has starred in ‘ Romeo Must Die’, ‘Exit Wounds’ and ‘Cradle 2 The Grave’ has had a run-in with the law.
Last year, he was arrested for swearing during a concert in the Caribbean islands of St Kitts and Nevis. And in 2002, he was fined $15,000 after he admitted animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His arrogance seems Hard To Kill ... surely the law will be Out For Justice ... he is treading On Deadly Ground for sure ... must have a Fire Down Below in his belly to do such stupid stuff ... being in jail will seem like being Under Seige ... perhaps his bad habits will be Marked For Death ... Rapper DMX left the Erie County Correctional Facility Friday, but his legal troubles aren't over.
The performer, whose real name is Earl Simmons, hobbled out of the jail on crutches, saying a guard assaulted him during a cell inspection Wednesday. Simmons spent 11 days in the jail for driving without a license.
His lawyer, Mark Mahoney, said the guard threw Simmons' Bible during the inspection and when Simmons turned around, the guard put him on the ground, injuring his knee and back.
Simmons planned to fly to New York City Friday for the evening premiere of the movie "Exit Wounds," in which he co-stars with Steven Seagal.
He is to return to western New York Wednesday to answer a contempt charge stemming from his failure to show up on time to begin his jail term.
He also faces an assault charge for allegedly throwing a food tray at two guards while in the jail. If convicted of assault, he faces up to seven years in prison.
Simmons was arrested in Cheektowaga, a suburb of Buffalo, last year after being pulled over for speeding a few hours after performing a concert in Buffalo. Officers later found marijuana in his car.
