It's hard to make a rating for this movie. There are very good and also very bad points.

I make it short:

+ Extremly well optical/look. The movie looks better than Pistol Whipped and light-years better than Urban Justice. I think the movie has the best look in years. I was surprised. And it's really not too dark.
+ Good locations
+ Interesting story
+ All in all good actors. Not as good as in Pistol Whipped but it was ok. His partner was very good and Steven looks that he had fun to shoot the movie.
+ Lot of action
+ Not one scene Stock Footage
+ good music

- The fight scenes are very bad. Ok, there are a lot and they are very long and not dark, but that's the only good thing. The most time there is his double and the editing is just bad and annoying. I absolutely don't liked it. Ok, they have more energy and speed like them in Attack Force or Ticker f.e., but they are just bad. Horrible to watch. The only watchable fight is the last one in the movie.
- The editing is in general very very bad and excessive, I hope "Ruslan" will be better in that point.
- Some dubbing, but not as much and bad as in Attack Force. But no guarantee on that.

Finally I think Jeff King is a very good director, the look really surprised me, specially when you know the budget. But they should never work with Cinetel again, because their editing is just extremly bad.

It's hard to make a rating, but I will give a 6/10, with hopes that "Ruslan" will be better (and I think it will be), because Cinetel is not involved there.

very funny, because i wrote that kill switch would have a excessive use of doubles and you called me doomsayer.. but i was as always right

and its a shame that a 7th-dan black belt man get doubled in a martial arts movie.. but it seems that noone cares about inlcuding steven

Always? You're funny, you said that Pistol Whipped will be a bad movie and it wasn't.

And there are "just" lot of fight doubles, but not more photo doubles compared to the other new Seagal movies.

I'm going to wait until I have seen the entire film before I write a review, but from the footage I've seen, from the story which I've read and from what I've heard from those who have seen the film, I'm going to give it an 9/10, subject to change once I've seen it.

I think a lot of fans are going be pleasantly surprised, and I also think it would have worked on the big screen. It could be Steven's comeback and I'll reserve my comments on his co-star for Chris Thomas King's fans, except to say, remember his name. You will be seeing him again.

Having seen only the first 5 minutes of the film i can't really judge it that well. Good lighting, seagal looks in good shape and the film has a very interesting plot. However i'm annoyed seagal is being dubbed it just ruins the whole film.Seagal is a 7th dan in Aikido,he has studied karate, judo, jujitsu and i thing some internal arts,so why the hell is stunt doubles being used? not just in this film but also belly of the beast, into the sun and who knows what else!.I will always like steven seagal films i just wish the company behind the films would give steven more credit and allow him to shoot the film the way he wants.can't wait to see the whole film, hope it's decent.

your right both cinetal and nu image are not involved in ruslan...its a insight/voltage pictures film.

i agree with your points but i cant blame seagal for the dubbing(about 25% is dubbed for seagal) as it was nu image that wanted the film re-edited.i understand that jeff kings edit was not as flashy as this version.i have only seen 40 minutes but its a decent thriler but for me not as good as UJ and PW..worst thing about the film is the screenplay and it confirms seagal is not a good enough screenwriter

I like your trailers very much, your editing is very good (better than that one in the movie ;) ) but can you look that you don't put the complete action scenes in the trailer?

My detailed review will follow in about 3-4 hours. I've seen now some minutes and it looks great. There are stunt doubles but you don't see them well. The action is unfortunately very, very "stylisch" that means, extremely fast cuts and slowmo / fastmo effects, but i only watched 5 minutes and there is already a fight scene where steven throws a guys around a room for about 2 minutes. awesome.

Yes it is a double when he slams him, however it is very hard to spot. If you are not looking for it you won't notice.

the question is why they decide to use a double, it doesn´t even make the scene better lol

ps: it would be cool to see stevens cut. everbody who buy this flick should get the cut for free =)

I personally prefer the fights in Kill Switch compared to the boring ones like in Attack Force, Flight of Fury, Ticker, Black Dawn or Out of Reach.

I mean the fights have speed and energy. But of course I don't provide the use of doubles.

And of course it's good that there are a lot of fights. I mean look at movies like Attack Force and others, they are just boring. Kill Switch is not boring, that's a plus. ;)

The choreography of the gunfights is very good and the camera work is great (aside from the fight scenes).

Couple of questions to those who have seen the movie. Please PM me if you feel any of your answers may spoil the movie for others, I wouldn't want that.

Okay here goes!!!

What guns does Seagal use?
Does the movie look expensive?
Does Seagal have any cool lines and is he a bad ass motherf*******cker?
Does the story flow well?

Thanks!!!!

1.dont know what guns
2.i would guess it looked like a 20M movie
3.no he does not have the arrogance that he had on PW or UJ and he is restrained in the film(one of the things i did not like about the film)
4.yes and no(the film flows better after the 30 minutes mark)

its not a bad movie is just that the action is poorly done it spoils it for me

its got good cinematography with good production values
well acted
well directed

but sadly not well edited
