I asked Waxman about the problems with the release of Killing Salazar. Finally some good news:

Yes there were some problems with the domestic distributor - which slowed down international distribution. It was just sorted out last month so Killing Salazar should be released wide soon.

Finally got to see it..
I dont even know where to begin..

Very good production.
Okay fight scenes, nothing special though.
Good locations.
Seagal, mostly dialouge.
Luke Goss and Georges St Pierre actually did a good job.

I was actually suprised about this film.

Now, here's the thing, I havn't been able to figure out what it was that I didnt like about Seagal's movies the past many years. There was always something that i couldn't quite put my fingers on (besides his sleepwalking dialouges and some of the bad productions), until now.
Now this may surprise some of you since this is coming from me.. Bare in mind that I still like Seagal as a human being and I have always respected him for doing what he wanted and never cared what people though of him. But watching this movie I realized that i would have enjoyed Seagal's scenes alot more if he was in much better physical shape, I simply cant deal with the fact that he is so over weight, that is not how I remember my childhood hero. You guys may wonder, how come it took you so long to actually figure that out ??? And to be honest, i really dont know. My guess is that I have been living in denial and wouldnt face the facts even when they were right in front of me this whole time. I dont think that i will ever enjoy a Seagal movie again with the same passion that I did when I was younger, and that is what I have been looking to do this whole time.

Did Waxman happen to know who the US distributor of the film will be?

Just watched it also(it's on the usual torrent sites now)
I have the opposite view of it....
cheap production
Seagal is in the first 5mts...then spends the rest of the film sitting behind a desk..
there is a extremely brief fight scene in the middle of it, and at the end.
Now, here's the thing....'I simply cant deal with the fact that he is so over weight,'.....'My guess is that I have been living in denial and wouldnt face the facts even when they were right in front of me this whole time.'
Yep....you've been in denial
He's been over weight ever since Under Siege completed and slowly gaining ever since(except he did knock off 40lbs for 'Exit Wounds' by jogging/running(he said in an interview) He put it right back on after...look at 'Half Past Dead'...that's pretty much when the long coats became standard attire...now a days he plain doesn't care and even looks bigger when wearing all the police or military gear on top.

Yeah, no doubt about that. :D

Yeah thats my impression as well, and I have a problem accepting that.

Complete utter garbage. Won't see it. Tired of these half-ass attempts at "films". Van Damme puts way more effort into his films and his appearance. He actually cares. Not sure why this is such a struggle for Seagal. I can watch a clip from any of his new films, and within 30 seconds can tell it's shit by the acting, terrible music, and choppy, LAZY fight sequences. No longer going to waste my time & money on this crap.

So Van Damme puts in effort? Did you notice that his voice is dubbed almost the entire movie in Kickboxer Vengeance? I agree with you on Johnson, but did he put some effort in Pound of Flesh?? Think not!

Thanks, thought it sounded funny. Not as bad as some of Seagal's voice doubles in the past, but sounded really strange in places.

Killing Salazar was a pretty solid B-movie (quite well made) Maybe if CODE OF HONOUR had the fight scenes of KILLING SALAZAR (or KILLING SALAZAR had the plot of CODE OF HONOUR) then we'd have at least one minor classic on our hands?

Thank you for the link. I agree that this whole Seagal on the cover art then absent from the movie thing is starting to feel like the norm. I miss the days of Pistol Whipped or Belly of the Beast at this point.

I agree, we get one more movie wehere he isn't the lead ( The Perfect Weapon), after that Contract To Kill, Attrition, Gunfighter :)
