Kylie Minogue visits children's cancer ward in Melbourne.

I'm sure Heather's heard this on her local news. But I remembered the article she had here when Kylie was first diagnosed with cancer. Now Kylie's taking the time to visit some children at a cancer ward in Melbourne. :) That's a wonderful thing and has a very positive influence on children! I know from my own experiences working with children with cancer that when a celebrity visits like this, especially one who has also the diagnosis of cancer, it's something they truly appreciate and will remember long after the star is gone.

It takes a warm, loving, kind-heart person to think of others at a time like this in their life. Good for her! :)

THEIR sad little faces lit up in delight when a surprise visitor popped in to cheer them up - Kylie Minogue.

The 37-year-old Aussie pop star made a special visit to the cancer ward at the Royal Children's Hospital in her home city of Melbourne on Thursday.

She spent an hour chatting to the thrilled young patients and handing out CDs and gifts.

It was brave Kylie's first public appearance since she was diagnosed with breast cancer in May and had the tumour removed a few days later.

The Royal Children's Hospital's communications director, Kate Dunston tells us: "Kylie spent a lot of time with the children individually and really connected to the kids.

"She had her dad with her and a couple of assistants. They all seemed to be very concerned for her."

Dave Rodgers, from children's charity Challenge who organised the visit, added: "This did Kylie as much good as it did the kids.

"I think she needed to see that other people are out there battling cancer. She seemed to take strength from the fact that these kids are fighting the disease like she is.

"She has been supporting us for 15 years. So when she contacted us and said she wanted to come in, we were happy to see her."

As the Mirror exclusively revealed this week, Kylie is expected to make a full recovery from her life-threatening illness.

Her sister Dannii told us: "She's going to be fine. She's really lucky her cancer has been treatable. Isn't the news just great? She's been inspirational - she's a fighter."

Kylie, who had to cancel dates on her record-breaking Showgirl tour to seek treatment, is being looked after at home by her family and her actor boyfriend, Olivier Martinez.

Last month, on her website, she thanked fans for the thousands of goodwill messages she'd received.

She said: "I am getting through this one step at a time and your messages of love have been greatly appreciated."

It's good to have you back, Kyles.

People don't need to be a celebrity to consider themselves lucky and help others. :)
You're welcome, Amos.

You're welcome, Heather. :) And yes, Steven too has devoted a lot of his time and money to children's charities, even more than we hear or read about, I'm sure. :)
