Other Martial Arts History Museum Announces 2004 Inductees

Each year, the Martial Arts History Museum nominates 30 key pioneers, masters, champions and legends to be considered for induction into the prestigious Martial Arts HALL OF FAME.

A voting process is provided for martial artists form all over the world to vote for their favorite individual to be inducted into the HALL. This year, over 254,000 votes were received.

We, at the Martial Arts History Museum are proud to congratulate STEVEN SEAGAL as being inducted into the MARTIAL ARTS HALL OF FAME. He alone, received over 20,000 votes from martial artists from all over the world. Congratulations!!!

As a new inductee, his name will be recorded for historic purposes and recognized in the upcoming Martial Arts History Museum.

At this time, we formally invite Steven Seagal to the Martial Arts History Museum Ceremony coming August 21, 2004 at the Hilton Hotel in Woodlands
Hills, California. This is a black tie affair that focuses on giving honor and respect to him for all his contributions and accomplishments for the martial arts community.

A video of his martial arts life will be displayed and a previous Hall of Famer will read his biography aloud, in which case he will be handed a custom-made
HALL statue.

A humble bow to Steven! Martial Arts combine so many aspects of learning - not just the physical movements. A very respected instructor once told me that one only begins to learn after achieving 1st Dan. I am reminded of the words (paraphrased) "I learn to fight so I don't have to fight" ... "it's easy to hurt someone ... it is more important to learn how to heal [someone]" ...
Congrats Sir! and thanks Craig! we should be proud!

Congratulation Steven Seagal, you deserved it. You're a master in Aikido but you're also someone very important ont his planet as all the persons who intend to protect the natuer, the environnement and the weacker.
You edserved it because of your strenght but also and especially because of your philosophy of life. Practicing martial art is not just to fight it's also to learn to have the balance and to live in harmony with the world which surround us. A lot of people should take your exemple. Maybe with this award, some of them will open their eyes and follow your example.
Thanx for what you have done in your life and for the exemple you give me.

No, it does not appear as if Steven made it this year. I checked their web site and looked over the events of the ceremony and there was no mention of him at all. "Of the many designated to be honored include Hidy Ochiai, Stephen Hayes, Doc Fai Wong, Gerald Okamura, Arnold Urquidez, Byong Yu, Billy Blanks, Sho Kosugi and more (guests may vary due to commitments)."

I did notice that on every page somewhere they're asking for donations.

This is the link to the summary about the ceremony on August 21, if anyone is interested.

Over two dozen Martial Arts Hall of Famers simultaneously cut the ribbon on the opening of the first Martial Arts History Museum in America. This black-tie affair took place at the Woodland Hills Hilton with over 300 people in attendance.

has chuck norris or others congratulated steven seagal's induction?
From everything I read, from a variety of different web sites, it does not appear as if he was inducted this year--perhaps because he did not contact them? His name was not mentioned anywhere at any of those sites that reported on the event.

You're welcome, pantera. :)

I do not think Steven Seagal was ever inducted into this particular hall of fame. He was invited to attend, but apparently never did.
