Private funeral services for Maurice Gibb will be held today, attended only by family members and close friends of the Bee Gees pop legend - with Michael Jackson expected to be among them.
Gibb, 53, who suffered cardiac arrest Thursday, hours before an operation to correct an intestinal blockage, died in the hospital Sunday.

Gibb’s bandmate brothers, Barry and twin Robin, his widow, Yvonne, and their two grown children will mourn today.

Jackson, who has been close to the Gibb family since the early 1970s, said he plans to be there, said a family spokesman.

Following the funeral, Maurice Gibb will be cremated. The family did not ask for an autopsy, the spokesman said.

Asked whether the family, which has raised questions about the care Gibb received at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, planned any kind of legal action, the spokesman replied:

“What we want to know is the timeline, what happened to Maurice and when.”

Very sad news. My heart go's out to his family. I love their older songs...

Yeah I heard this news..one moment I had read on the internet about him being hospitalized & the next that he had died.

I think the matter should be looked into-having witnessed myself the neglect that occurs in hospitals.
