Since most people don't even know about the Further Off-Topic sub-forum and are missing these beautiful pics (among all the other topics), I thought I'd share some of these with you here. These were all taken in the last week. Fall in Michigan, especially northern Michigan, is, in a word, spectacular! :)

1) Two-lane highway in Houghton, Michigan.
2) Baraga County backroad.
3) Eagle Harbor Lighthouse.
4) Bete Grise Beach.
5) The bay in Hancock, Michigan.

Wow, Serena, that is beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I think most people think Detroit when Michigan is mentioned, and hardly ever consider the other things the state has to offer. It looks very nice, I plan to go to school in Michigan in a few years.

Thanks, Reservoir Dog! :) I appreciate that. You're so right about many people thinking automatically of Detroit when hearing Michigan. Michigan is the Great Lakes State and has so much more to offer than just automobiles! :)

And there are several fine universities in Michigan, amongst them University of Michigan (where I went to nursing school), Michigan State, Central, and more. Good luck to you! :)

WOW-something more than buildings & dirt!
I heard on the news last night that snow resorts up in northern arizona are actually using their lifts for people to view the fall colors!
Thanks for sharing your photos Serena!

What a great idea about the ski lifts, Amos! There are many ski resorts in Michigan, especially northern Michigan. I wonder if they're doing the same thing. Worth looking into--thanks for the idea! :) And you're welcome for the pics. :)

Thanks, Flashgalaxy. :) No, indeed--none of these are my pics! I wish I was up there snapping these! :D I'd never want to come back. :) All of these pictures are from Michigan, with the vast majority taken in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan--Copper Country--otherwise known as God's Country. ;) Also the home of my paternal grandfather and his family. :)

Thank you, Serena

I loved the UP and miss the fall colors. Ours here are mostly green black of spruce and gold of the birch. Beautiful but our reds are only the bushes and a few trees I planted. Today on our walk in the woods Cody and I saw a lot of the Aklaskan Range today above the black and gold of the forest. It's sensational.

You're welcome, Hallarian. I thought about you when I saw some of these pictures, as I know you loved living in the U.P. and miss it. I'd love to see your autumn in Alaska sometime, as I'm sure it's uniquely beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed these. :)

Autumn in Alaska is beautiful too.

Cody and I walked on a capet of golden birch leaves all the way along my trail through the woods. Cody loves to roll in the leaves just like a child.
