365 flix just posted that someone named Sharon Melching won the Super Fan contest on the 365 flix website.
She got a call by Steven himself to tell her that she will meet him. In her post Sharon mentions something interesting

So guess who called me today from Moscow? Steven Seagal!!!! Congratulating me on winning the Super Fan Contest. The dates have been changed to later in December (as he will be filming in Romania). Looking forward to meeting Steven in Russia in December.

So it seems Seagal will be filming a new movie in Romania very soon.

I will try to dig up more info....

I just checked with Keoni Waxman if he is going to do a movie with Seagal in Romania soon....
Maybe he will direct....

Waiting for an answer...

That´s great news! If Keoni Waxman is directing the movie it normally is a good sign:) Thanks DiDa keep us updated!

I personally hope that Seagal will never work with Waxman again.

Dangerous Man and The Keeper were pretty good DTV movies if not Seagals best DTV movies but everything after that was pretty bad. IMO he should work with an other director.

Well, I think Absolution as also one of his better dtv movies. I also liked Killing Salazar. Waxman can certainly make good action movies. Its all about shooting days, crew and so on.....

And I think when Waxman is directing, the fight scenes are better. I mean in absolution the fight scene is good, also in Dangerous Man and Maximum Conviction.

I certainly don't have much hope for this one, which is not much of a surprise given that it will be shot in Romania and only has a miniscule 2.5 million budget (Seagal's lowest ever).

I wonder who will direct? Probably no one of note or they would've surely mentioned it in their press release. I personally think that it will be a first-time director.

The Budget doesn't bother me (it's what they do with it?)
£2.5m (in the right hands) is a fortune (depends on the hands?)

Even with inflation adjustments, £2.5m (in the 'right hands') would make you:

Clerks (1994)
Monsters (2010)
The Gallows (2015)
Open Water (2004)
Super Size Me (2004)

With more than enough change to make:

Napolean Dynamite (2004)

.....Combined

I'm still not convinced.

Call me negative but an uninterested Seagal (which is what he'll be if doing the film just soley for the money), a miniscule 2.5 budget (low even by DTV standards), the Romanian setting and a no name director (more than likely?) doesn't exactly get one's action movie juices flowing? Not mine at least.

You should check out the works of a British director called 'Darren Ward'
He's made 3 feature length movies (so far) that have come nowhere near £2.5m (combined) and the last 2 are far better made than some of Seagal's (ropey) 2004-06 DTV efforts.
Ward's movies are jam-packed with ultra-violence and (well choreographed) shoot-outs. You should check them out:
Sudden Fury
A Day Of Violence
Beyond Fury (released 2019)

But like I said earlier, it's all about the talent behind the projects (I'm well aware that £2.5m is very low for a Seagal flick...but like Dida, I'm optimistic)

Given the unsavory tactics of 'inflated budgets' by (some) DTV companies, I wouldn't be surprised if the budget was (in all actuality) half of what it's claimed to be, anyhow?
But perhaps a fresh new vision can work wonders (it's up to Seagal, I guess?)

A whole lot of 'if's' & 'buts', I know...but you need only look at something like 'Out For A Kill' with a (reputedly) £14m budget to see how money can be equally squandered?

As we have said many times before, Seagal is quite often to blame for how the film turns out in certain ways, so it's definitely not just the budget that is a concern. The director can only do so much; he/she could possibly do great things with only a limited budget but an unmotivated Seagal would be all it takes to destroy the film...and we've seen examples of this (whatever his reasons or frustrations) too many times before - hench why I don't remain as optimistic as you and DiDa.

I hear you.

I'm still a die-hard Seagal fan, but I'm a lot less forgiving than I used to be. I don't want to appear to be constantly ragging on him.....but nearly every thread/topic on these boards, has it's own "Seagal is largely to blame" posts (from all members)

I just wish he'd relax a lot more, have fun and work within his own limitations and (most importantly) Take (and follow) direction (instead of trying to be a jack-of-all-trades....and master of none)

He could/should spend more time choreographing his fight scenes, rather than rewriting dialogue and scripts.

This is why I must *try* remain optimistic, when I hear he may be working with a tighter budget (and unknown director) This 'back-to-basics' approach might be what he needs?

My optimism is the only thing keeping me going (at the moment) but Seagal likely *needs* a bit of tough love (be it negativity, criticism or otherwise) from his fans? :D
