Maybe Dida could contact them for details

I could try to contact them but I am sure they won't give anymore details away. And I think they still haven't any more details. The movie has just started pre-production. I will contact them in a few months.

If they really have a budget of 25 million $ they better not f**k it up and make a crappy movie like the last four movies.

So we're gonna wait forever for a new movie that will once again disappoint. There are no reasons why this movie should be any different than his last 5 movies.

To be fair, Let's:
A.) See if it get's made first?
B.) Then judge it.

You seem to be 'down' on the movie, before it's even made...That's pretty harsh! :)

It´s not harsh,

Seagal hasn´t made a good movie since "Exit Wounds". His movie career is over whether the budget will be 25 million or not.....

Youre right. Does not matter about the budget as long as the scripts and locations are weak as hell

Guys,

what Lee said about "pre-face" criticism is the only acceptable way. Moreover I have two honest questions to you who think that Seagal's career is over: why are you still fan and why are you still on board?

If Seagal doesn't satisfy you anymore, you are free to choose another topic which seems more worthy of your time.

I have also my critic points, but when you guys as long-term members fall into the same behaviour non-fans do, than please withdraw your interest. It won't help you and others. Speaking of myself: I personally despise people, who enjoy something and years later, they abolish it and claiming it was all the way negative = they were never ever a fan. You know that this not the truth. I have been long enough around to know this.

If you really a fan of Seagal, then you have to follow this "way of darkness" = "only bad movies". This is what it means being a samurai. You follow your lord, especially when it comes hard and deadly.

But we are living in a free society and so I can encourage you only to think about yourself. After a period of thinking make a decision. If you want to cease your life as a fan, than it was an honor to know you. I wish you the best. In case, you decide to cease being a fan temporarily, I am more than happy to welcome you again.

And a last fact that we have to consider. The action movie genre is limited when it comes to ideas and storys. There can't be any "creativity", since everything that is possible to to be told, was already told. Especially when it comes to Seagal. The only things that can be improved are actors, locations, special effects. But not the thing we call "story". Same thing applies to the entire movie industry. Nevertheless I prefer watching a Seagal movie than a big budget, articifial again re-boot movie from Hollywood.

I understand both sides, the ones who are skeptical, and the ones who are looking forward to it. I tend to be in the latter group at the moment, I think this sounds interesting. He is trying to work with different companies right now.

Hopefully there will be more infos soon. If filming starts in April, the director and some cast members could be announced pretty soon?

Martin01, I can understand the sceptiscm, but if someone says "his career is over" this is NO sceptism. The words "is over", heavily implies an end. Dead end. Finish line. Sceptism is still walking the way, with doubts, not the end.

There is a thin line between sceptism and firm statement in my view. If I would annouce sceptism these are accurate in the proper sense "Can it lift up Seagal's reputation outside the fandom?"

A fact I would like to mention is that apparently nobody (Mr. Waxman an exception) working with Seagal visits this forum or his facebook entry. Seagal himself is not the type who would post and talk constantly. His few statements are proof. This is not meant negative, but we should treat facts seriously not myths.

You’re right there is a difference between skepticism and lines like “his career is over”. But I understand that after these years some lost the patience while waiting for a good movie. I was very disappointed with his movies after 2010, too.

But to be fair, the latest news don’t sound too bad to me, at least at the moment. We have to wait and see.

Just theoretical and I know it's pretty unrealistic, if Seagal really wants to make a bigger movie and it would have around the mentioned budget, what would you think about hiring "John Wick" directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch to direct? "John Wick" had an estimated budget of 20 millions according to imdb and the movie already got a lot of good reviews. It seems to be a great old school actionthriller. Do you you think they would match to a Seagal movie?
At least the company he has chosen worked with some good directors.

That would be awesome. But I think it is not happening. There aren't a lot of studio's that are having faith in a Seagal movie.

Why not?

@DiDa
will you contact Mr. Waxman next year again? Not now, everyone is busy. It is not surprising, but we didn't have any progress on ABSOLUTION. Voltage could at least provide a simple webpage with a summary.

Last time I checked, Mr Waxman still had to finish the movie. There were some little things he still had to do in post, so I guess the movie is finished by now. That means we will get a trailer very soon (December of January). I expect a release in March / April.

yes, you reported this status about finishing post-production. But ever since we are all left in limbo about it. Was the post-production really concluded? = Rhetoric question.

I am glad that you replied :)
