NEW SEAGAL FILM-A GOOD MAN

@ lee nicholson

The fascination of Tarantino is exactly this, what you said: he puts his own stamp on previous stuff in a new light so to speak.

I am a movie-guy, who watches and watched mostly so-called b-movie stuff from all genres and all I can say: most of them entertain me. Tarantino tries to show this love in his way in making his own version of it.The movies which inspired him or still inspire are mostly fun.

And inspiration is - for me - not stealing. Stealing would be a complete theft without mercy. Tarantino ackknowlegdes all his love in scenes, dialogues, music and credits.

Sure he can real low-budget movies, but that would make it even more interesting in my opinion. He uses his own imagination for his versions, i.e. tributes, homages or whatever you want to call them.

The idea behind writing Tarantino is - you probably read the thread - is to lift up Seagal's reputation outside the fandom. For me, who enjoyes a lot of so-called "weird" movies, it is a great idea.

I am a happy man, so I enjoy my life. Live your life to your goal, nobody forces you to buy or to watch stuff. :)

Edit:
has anyone made a decision yet? I am waiting.

The guys a hack (and like I said, all his fans say stuff like "He uses his own imagination for his versions" as a cop-out)

Tell me one 'Imaginative' thing he has ever done?

Oh, and BTW, I don't call what he does (quote) "tributes, homages"...I call what he does THEFT. There's no (quote) "Inspiration" in borrowing wholesale from other movies...It's just stealing. Anyone can just take bits and bobs from better movies and cobble them together. The sooner people wake up to this clown...the better!

One "imaginative": I never saw a crashing car, where due to the accident a leg is chopped off, see DEATH PROOF.

But if you still call his tribute "theft", than I can't help you. Moreover probably you know a movie, where this happens too and this movie was long before DEATH PROOF was made.

By the way, have you thought of going into the movie-business? You would be probably a good critic. Write your own critics, publish them and earn money.

I wish I could do that. But before the admins are locking us for making too much off-topic, I will wait if others think like you.

Everything is voluntarily, I only offered that I could make a draft. You see this action pointless, okay. No problem!

What about the others? Where are you?

Please keep on topic please.

By the way, It's indeed getting silent on this forum. But that's not strange, because Seagal has nothing really exciting coming up.

Same here, must have deleted hundreds of spam messages and members in last couple of days. :( Will try and upgrade the board soon as there are a few more spam blockers.

Someone mentioned Tarantino, and I gave my opinion. Fair play to SEAGALZILLA for not resorting to name-calling. But neither one of us are passing on links to 'Taiwanese Herbal Pills'...So you've gotta expect conversations to divert every now and then (otherwise this site becomes a 'ISN'T SEAGAL GREAT' website)

That's exactly why you still can post Lee ;).

A little sidestep every now and then with a bit of discussion is good for the board as long as we keep it civilized. You two kept it civil, so no worries.

Boyd, please mind the language.

But you are right, I don't think it was wise for Seagal to turn down Expendables 3.
Truth is however that he did and we are stuck with A Good Man.

Let's not judge the movie however before we have seen it (it hasn't even been made yet) or have heard/seen reviews.

I was not very enthusiastic about Force of Execution, but with the second trailer out, it is starting to look better. So lets be patient.

Peace

Fight training all day. There are going to be some kick ass action scenes in this movie. Fun to finally do an R rated fight scene.

Ron Baliki is again the stuntcoordinator for the fight scenes.
He placed a story board photo:

Victor rocks. He works hard and is an amazing talent. I'm lucky to get to work with him.
