I believe, backalong a ways, Tiggy explained the situation with the current "official" site.
It's difficult to be kind when the result doesn't do any justice whatsoever to the subject. It's not being done by any of Steven's people, for starters, nor is he or any of his people actively involved in it. The website is not updated, it is not attractive (alas, for the previous version - it was gorgeous, but not well managed in the end), it is not well organised - in short, a piss-poor effort by someone hoping to make a buck from his share of the sales.
It's only "official" because the guy bought the rights to the stevenseagal.com name, for the purpose of selling the products - "official" because he got permission from Steven's people to buy the name with that condition. And that's as far as "official" goes.
It's an embarrassment. A Steven Seagal fan expecting to find updated information on his activities, his movie releases, publicity photos, whatever, isn't going to find them there. And where would you find them, if not on the "official" site?
Look at how hard our Suziwong works to find all the photos and articles and other tidbits she comes up with. Look at how many people it takes to keep us supplied with movie release information. Keeping a website up-to-date that's not being done from the "inside" would keep one person busy full-time - and if he's not making any money off it, why bother? And it shows.
Spend a few minutes less feeling sorry for the official site's webmaster, and a few minutes more appreciating all the hard work that Craig and Suzi and others who contribute meaningfully to this site have put into it. Have you seen the number of hits the Location and Upcoming Movie threads get? People come HERE to view what's up with The Big Guy. People come HERE to see the latest additions to the gallery. We put a lot of effort into staying up-to-date with our news and information, and why that is being brushed aside in favour of feeling sorry for the "official" site's webmaster really baffles me.

TD, I never said the other site was good and I do realize how much is done to maintain this site. Thank you. Thank you all. It is a lovely site.
