Movies Out for a kill trailer

Just saw the trailer.

From experience of seeing such trailers with so many short, quick-cut scenes in it, it usually means the movie itself is going to be really, really bad, because they're showing the only good bits in the trailer.

Oh, well. I'll know in six weeks (I hope B&N ship it the minute it comes in).

"Alan Smithee" is a code name. It means that the director who directed the movie does not want his real name associated with the film (usually because he thinks its so bad, he doesn't want it to appear on his resume).

Thank you very much my dear !! :)

Didn't Marked For Death have the same short,quick-cut scenes in the trailer? And that was one of his best flicks ever.Don't most action films(or films in general)show the best bits?Surely this is the idea of a trailer.

Does look pretty good and I love that soundtrack as well. A swordfight with a monk to boot. The fight scenes do look much better as well. If he can do this with Nu Image just imagine what he can do with Yakuza and Warner Bros and the right director.
Dont you just wish he had made more martial arts actions films when he was in his early 30's. Its amazing that he is doing this well as an action star in his 50's. You just dont see it.
He is the last true action star.

Has anybody managed to rip it to their PC yet?

Hi guys.

I didn't notice anyone answering this so here's one way to save the trailer to your PC. You need ASFRecorder to do this. It's a free software that can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/asfrecorder/.

Once you have downloaded the zip, extract it to a directory of your choice. There's no other installing involved. Then just run asfrecorder.exe to start the software and click file/open url. Now you need to know the url of the trailer. Unfortunately the standard videodetective url won't work since it points to the html-page which has the trailer rather than the actual asf-file.

But no worries. If you check the source of the page (View/Source on IE), you'll see a url pointing to a videopipeline-server. It's a popular server that has streaming media. DVD Empire and lots of other places use it's services to link trailers.

So just copy and paste that address to asfrecorder and it should begin downloading and saving it. It will save as an asf-file so Windows Media Player will play it.

Here are the cool parts: Once you have ripped the trailer to your PC, there are no more freezes etc. that a slower connection causes. And not only that, even modem-users can get the 300k version of the trailer.

By the way, here's the url I used to get the trailer:

http://www.videopipeline.net/player...hedid=973760&videokbrate=300&customerid=14817

That's the 300k-version as the url says. So just download asfrecorder, run it, choose file and open url and paste that url. It should work.

On a related note, I liked this trailer and I have a good feeling about this movie. I haven't really liked director Oblowitz's work in the past and The Foreigner was pretty lousy in my opinion, but isn't this actually the first film to be released by Seagal's new Luminosity company? Maybe that means he has more control over the end product. So it could and should be fun.

Hope this helps :)

Smile dammit!
What a debut Sascha! Well done. I agree with Mike's sentiments. It looks like a good one. Here's hoping.

Worked great. Movie looks good, hopefully it will be better than The Foreigner. It certainly looks so from the trailer. Some nice martial arts and stunts.

For those with a slow connection, i am uploading the trailer i've downloaded in ZIP format for you to download onto your computer.

Here we go, as promised. See the text file for the link.

To run unzip then open in Windows Media Player. You may require additional plugins if you are using an old version of Windows Media Player.
