Yep, it was the same in my copy as well..I also thought the editing of the movie was pretty poor..It definately had the Oblowitz movie feel to it..

it seems out for a kill is getting mixed reviews(i will be watching mine tomorrow)......justice and mike give some postive views on the film but glimmer and jhogan have slated it so i dont know what to expect really.....i think the overall view is that this director is poor and seagal may have more look with belly of beast director instead.in this film seagal is getting more praise by his fans though than he did for hpd and tf..........anyone here upset with choice of director for out of reach as barbet schroader was attached at one time.

POor baldy TD...all you have to do is figure out how to get all of us there & we would be glad to help you out for free...just find any crumbs around & that can be our banquet!

This Out Of Reach director(I can't remember his name at this time)seems to be from a tv background so it will be interesting to see how he approaches a Seagal action film.I am kind of surprised they didn't get a more well known, credible director(Barbet Shroder would've been cool)esp.if this film is intented for a theatrical release.I am guessing there is a three month shoot on this one?Kokoro has already mentioned they are 5 weeks over schedule:(.At this rate Into The Sun won't start production untill late November.

At the very least both Lotus & Suzi must agree that Michael Oblowitz is not the world's best director.

You are definetly right !! I accepted this at the beginning. since "The Foreigner" !! Also may be he is one of the worst !!

"It's not all bad and this is not a criticism of Steven Seagal - in fact, he was the best thing about the film."
Glimmerman is right too !! But I watched I liked generally not bad !! I wrote that above especially I enjoyed Steven's fight scenes !!
finally my personal opinion this movie is not bad !! may be would be better another good director.may be Seagal prefers this guy he is one of the cheap one too !! Because he knows who is the best or who is the good he worked some of them isn't it ????

sincerely

Hahaha... Justice - I reckon a crazed chimpanzee could have put together a better movie than Out For A Kill.

HMV are doing 3 DVD's for 20 quid next month and I have put away Glimmer Man, Under Siege and Exit Wounds. Lucky me with my discount will get them for £13. My question is - what is the 'making of' documentary like on the Exit Wounds disc?

Maybe Monkey boy could've done a better job at directing ahahahaha.

I think most us can agree that Seagal did fine in is role, but the crappy direction from Oblowitz was one of the worst any of us have ever seen.I wonder why Seagal choose to work with him again after seeing The Foreigner?Like Suzi Said,Seagal knows who he likes & who he doesn't.I would love to know what Seagal's views are on both films.

Hi Glimmer, I have the "Exit Wounds" DVD and thought that the 'Making of Documentary' was quite good. It lasts around 30 mins and there is snippets of interviews with the cast (including Seagal), producer Joel Silver and novel writer John Westerman. They also show Seagal training with the other stunt performers and show him on set practising for takes. It generally is interesting, I mean, you see Seagal practising the hand stand kick (contrary to some reports, he did that himself albeit aided with a wire) and you can also see that he must have injured himself whilst making the film as he walks with a limp in some shots. (the bit where he is practising the fight in TK's club)

There is also a trailer, a mini Anthony Anderson comedy documentary and the music video for DMX's "Ain't No Sunshine" song. It is also pretty good even though I'm not bigly into rap.

Peace.

I think directors anymore figure to heck with realism...they just want anything that looks like action & people will go for it.

Sorry I'm not into cartoons!

Well, I've always said I'm the first to admit it when I'm wrong, and BOY was I wrong when I said I would give any Steven Seagal movie 5 out of 5 stars regardless.

I watched it today and thought it was TERRIBLE! That is the single-most word that kept popping up in my mind over and over again. I thought ALL the acting was terrible, the direction, the overall "darkness" of the movie. I didn't even think the fight scenes were that great. And those electronic noises that accompanied the printed words (which I think a few people already mentioned) were the exact same noises I have heard on kids' cartoons and Spy Kids (which I watch with the kids in the hospital) to designate certain "spy" activites WERE very annoying.

Meaning no disrespect at all to anyone who liked the movie, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I have to admit, this is the first movie EVER where I didn't even care about Steven's character. He didn't HAVE much of a character, no personality; you didn't even care that his wife or assistant were killed because he didn't seem to care. I think I'll watch it again and total the minutes of his dialogue. I'll bet he didn't speak a total of 20 of minutes through the whole movie. As much as I like him, I've never considered him the world's greatest actor (I feel his screen presence and charisma help complete him as an actor), but this was the worst.

Of course, none of this will stop me from watching it again, and I certainly eagerly await the release of his next movie with great anticipation and enthusiasm, and MOST DEFINITELY, I still consider him the sexiest, most attractive and appealing man alive......just didn't like the movie. :D

awwww, I really liked it...
He did some awesome fighting, and the story was pretty good...
If the movie was lacking, it was not because of Steven...
I didn't think the Chinese guys were so impressive...
Dark? The Foreigner was much darker and hard to see...
As for Steven's hair, I just want to run my fingers through it...:)
But I do kind of miss the ponytail just a little...

I suspect from what I've been hearing is that Oblowitz, aside from not being a good storyteller, doesn't actually know what scenes make a good film. I'd be curious to know what got left on the cutting room floor.

I suspect I'll enjoy the film, as I did like The Foreigner. It's a pity, though, that Steven no longer has any cachet with the Hollywood crowd, and he stuck with making these low-budget flicks with bad directors and worse scripts.

I had high hopes of the Yakuza one, having read the script synopsis, but it seems that's not the script that's going to be used. A great pity; it was a good story. The story that's being bandied about now, the Romeo/Juliet thing, sounds absolutely dreadful.

-TD, still looking forward to OFAK despite the polarised reviews

Well just finished watching the DVD...
As people have already remarked the monkey fight scene is totally "out there".As I commented before-directors don't seem to care about being realistic-just going for action. I did enjoy seeing the "fight scenes" like the ole Seagal use to do. Too bad they're so quick & so jumping around from scene to scene.
Didn't appreciate all the backflashes at the beginning of the movie-only need to see so much of that-but you're seeing that more & more in movies these days.
Sort of ended it that they could make a sequel to it...
I noticed in the credits that he had his own cook...his own trailer driver...and the movie was dedicated to (directors son? ) Olson on his 16th birthday.

Overall it was better than his last few movies-except for Exit Wounds maybe.

Not to be speaking ill of anyone or anything, but to me the current Hollywood crowd is full of stuck ups who have little or no talent, it seems...
I think Steven is just too much of a black sheep for them...
And I feel that he is far more intelligent, that can be intimidating to a lot of people...
That is why I find him so interesting, he's his own man, and it doesn't matter what the others think...
Personally, I'm just plain bored and disgusted with who is who in hollywood...
Except for Steven of course...:)

Our Steven definitely likes his comforts.... I'd heard he had his own cook in Poland. Trust me, he was wise.

-TD, knowing too well what Polish cooking is all about, dziekujem bardzo

Oh, Suzi I dunno...
I think he is fine the way he is, and the little waves
are charming, but I miss the ponytail if it is long in the back...
I think your photo looks like Exit wounds hair, huh?
Exit wounds, oooh I like that one...
I can't make a say though, only what makes him happy...
Because he makes me soooo happy!
