Well, I've always said I'm the first to admit it when I'm wrong, and BOY was I wrong when I said I would give any Steven Seagal movie 5 out of 5 stars regardless.
I watched it today and thought it was TERRIBLE! That is the single-most word that kept popping up in my mind over and over again. I thought ALL the acting was terrible, the direction, the overall "darkness" of the movie. I didn't even think the fight scenes were that great. And those electronic noises that accompanied the printed words (which I think a few people already mentioned) were the exact same noises I have heard on kids' cartoons and Spy Kids (which I watch with the kids in the hospital) to designate certain "spy" activites WERE very annoying.
Meaning no disrespect at all to anyone who liked the movie, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I have to admit, this is the first movie EVER where I didn't even care about Steven's character. He didn't HAVE much of a character, no personality; you didn't even care that his wife or assistant were killed because he didn't seem to care. I think I'll watch it again and total the minutes of his dialogue. I'll bet he didn't speak a total of 20 of minutes through the whole movie. As much as I like him, I've never considered him the world's greatest actor (I feel his screen presence and charisma help complete him as an actor), but this was the worst.
Of course, none of this will stop me from watching it again, and I certainly eagerly await the release of his next movie with great anticipation and enthusiasm, and MOST DEFINITELY, I still consider him the sexiest, most attractive and appealing man alive......just didn't like the movie.
