Well, like I said, I literally just ordered the DVD the other day. This is one of my favorite DTV titles of his, so I'll spring for an HD version eventually, but probably not right now.

SO, I re-watched Pistol Whipped, and although it is one of his better dvt movies I liked Renegade Justice better.

It's good to see a motivated Seagal who's really trying something different with this character. We have never seen him playing a vulnarable man. And although the action is great and production wise it is his best looking dtv, that's where the problem is. This kind of character doesn't fit Seagal. We see him struggling in the dramatic scenes. But I have to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is at least motivated and trying to do something a little bit out of his comfort zone.

But I want to see the Seagal from Renegade Justice. Brutal and spitting one liners while going on a revenge mission. Just like the old days. That fits him better.

Also Seagal looks really out of shape in Pistol Whipped, but his character is suppose to be that way.

But, now it seems I am negative towards Pistol Whipped. I am not. It's one of his best dtv's, but these are the things I had trouble with.

Am the other way, I do like Renegade / Urban Justice but Pistol Whipped beats it for me.

I loved that he was trying to do a different character, humble and self-depreciating. The scenes with the daughter worked well (as opposed to in movies like Shadow Man where they're just hokey), especially the visit to the aquarium and the moment where she ignores him while he knocks on the car door.

The fights were sharp and to the point as with all the best of Seagal and not much in the way of doubles. It was a decent story, well put together and the climax in the graveyard was great.

Can't find much at fault with it except a bit too much wobble-cam and some ropey green screen.

There are a lot of doubles in Pistol Whipped. Not for the fightscenes, but just for other stuff. Check out the shootout and carchase scene. In Renegade Justice it was (almost) all Seagal.
