Good post UC...
The main point is we need to be healthy...I know I'm not the healthiest eater, but I am trying to eat healthier...And I need more excersize too...Running is probably hard for him because he is so busy, that's true...I adore him just the way he is, he doesn't need to be superman, and I like him with some meat on his bones...heh, but If needed for health reasons, I think we could work it off together....That would be really a fun concept for me...:D ;) :D But if he stayed just as he is I wouldn't mind at all, either...

I totally agree, he should be happy with himself whatever he looks like. But my only worry is that people will really stop taking him seriously as an action hero if he keeps piling on weight. He lost some for Exit Wounds (which was a hit), but then it seems to have come back on again. Even though I'm a big fan, even I can see it limits his movement and makes for action scenes that just aren't the same standard as the vintage stuff (e.g. Marked for Death, Out for Justice, ABTL). The heavier he is, the less quick and mobile he is, that's just a fact of life. So personally, I'd really like to see him lose a bit. But again, he should be happy whatever he does.:)

This is music but: they took Sting, Ozzy, Paul McCartney(I don't give a flying flump if I spelt it wrong :p *is a beetle hater) and etc seriously when they went out on their own....hell people are taking the doors seriously.

He should lose some. If he didn't have to travel so much it would be easier. Best way for people who have a pool is to swim with flippers. When I go through a warm area and have time to swim, morning laps with swim fins burns the fat fast and trims the tummy too.
Good tip, I guess I'll have to go out and buy some flippers and spend lots of time at my dads this summer....heehee, although I am quite aways from catching up to seagal...lol although no chins just one and I'm no where near 250 :D

Yes, more of him to love! He is utterly attractive, doesn't matter what his weight is, the magnetism just draws you in...And that handsome face, and those eyes, and...ok I will stop for now...:D

Lotus, I dont think there is enough room on the internet for our praises of Steven.
However did you know that drinking a glass of ice water uses up 30 calories because your body automatically warms it up to body temperature.
I'd have to drink a bathtub full a day for it to do any good for me.LOL:eek:

We need to stop focusing on those silly superficial things...I love Steven as he is...I would help him do anything at all he desired, including losing weight, and I could lose some myself too, but I think he is fine just as he is right now...He is just wonderful! :D

I wouldn't mind seeing him lose a little weight but not alot. He needs to keep some meat on those bones.

I would have to say I would be inclined to agree with those board members who think he should lose weight. I say this because he is a 50 year old man in the action genre and is going to have slowed down enough by this time of life without having needless excess weight making the situation worse. The best build I have seen him with was around the time he made "Marked For Death"/"Out For Justice" where he was a medium muscular build. I also thought he was too skinny in his debut movie "Above The Law" and looks positively puny in that one compared to his other movies and I see a few other board members agree with me.

The weight issue, as superficial as it sounds, only gives his detractors something more to criticise him for but they do have a point when it comes to the stage where he is not taken seriously as an action man because of it. I mean being bulky did'nt affect the latter day John Wayne or Robert Mitchum but the other side of this coin is that they were not physically exerting themselves the way Seagal has had to as a martial artist.

Another actor who I admired and had similar problems was the late great Steve McQueen. Between "The Towering Inferno" and "Tom Horn" he basically dropped out of movies and gained quite a lot of weight (reportedly 60lbs!) and before he dared appear on the screen again in 1979 for "Tom Horn" he had to undergo severe physical retraining and lost most but not all of his extra weight. He was the same age as Seagal when he made his last movie "The Hunter" in 1980 and although he was reportedly suffering from cancer and looked a little tired throughout the film he still managed to do a lot of his own stunts and I thought looked well considering what the guy was going through.

I think if Seagal stayed the same build as he was in "Exit Wounds" he would be doing well.

Peace

I still adore him, even if he is heavier now, I kind of like him with a little meat on his bones truthfully...But if he is wanting to lose weight I wish him well...I agree he looked very very nice in Exit Wounds, but I like him for a lot more reasons than looks, his charm comes from within...:) And he's the same man fat or thin...I think we all need to be healthy though, they are now saying that obesity causes cancer, so I hope I too can lose a few pounds...I know how hard it is though, and I don't fault Steven for it, after all he has so much going for him, he's talented, and giving and I think he's great...:)
