problems to log in

Since last week, i've got more and more problems to log in:

1st i write my login and password. the computer lets me go on the forum. But as soon as i choose or click on anything, the computer logs me off without reason and i need to log in again and again and over again. So to answer someone or to just read threads, i must log in several times.
I don't understand why?
On the main page, there's a link to tell if you have problems to log in and when i try, it says, error.
Is there someone else having the same problem? Craig can you check if there's a problem with my account?
It's getting very boring now!!!!

Thanx

Add me to the group. I tried to answer Pur last night in a thread. I kept trying to post...it kept telling me I wasn't logged in. I went and clicked the reverse arrow to go back a page. I would suddenly be logged in again. Sometimes I can retrieve my post and post it...sometimes it keeps me logged off until I re-log in...but my post will be gone. It got to the point I couldn't surf the forum unless I stayed logged off.

I just hope I can log off tonight. I wasn't going to log in again until the problem was resolved.
Craig thought it was my browser. He suggested changing browsers.

My question is, are all the people having this problem using Netscape 7.1 like I am?

well, what i can tell you jules is that i don't use netscape 7.1, I think!
At least, the problem doesn't come from your browser.
I noticed that lately, i cleaned up my computer. So, i deleted temporary files, cookies....
When you do that, the "forul" doesn't remember your username.
Yesterday, i wrotei it again and click remember me. Now, it seems that it works as before. I hope so....wait and see.

Craig, I just wasted the last hour of my time trying to leave ONE post. I put a lot of thought and prayer into what I had to say. It is gone. I have what I wanted to say written out. I will try on the library computer too. I only seem to have problems with posts that take more than a minute or two to post. I still get instantly logged off too! I can bounce between being logged in and not, but the post is usually gone for good.

COULD YOU PLEASE RECTIFY THE PROBLEM HERE? I am not the only one having this problem.

Thank you.

Maybe the cause is the recent forum software update. :(

Any more problems Pantera let me know.

thanx Craig.
It seems that i have to click on "remember me" otherwise....well the computer doesn't remember me and i have to log in every five minutes.
So now, everything seems to work normally. ;)

Craig, I am on the library computer using IE instead of Netscape 7.1 like I do at home. I still can't post long posts. I keep getting knocked off and have to log in again. Can you fix this problem on your forum?

Well, I'm using Netscape 7.1 and I'm not having a problem.

Jules, the library computer may have some kind of "cookie" management turned on so that cookies from sites aren't stored on the computer.

On your computer at home, click on the "remember me" and see if that helps.

For the record, when I say my Netscape 7.1 works, it only works on my PC. For some reason, the cookie management on my Netscape on my Apple will not function, will not allow me to store cookies, so on my Apple, I end up having the same problem with signing on and staying signed on.

See if your Netscape at home has "accept cookies" turned on. If it's turned off, that may be the problem, as it seems clear that access to the site with the new software may be dependent on stored cookies.

I'll see what happens. All I know is it is testing my patience sorely. To put much time into a post and then lose it. To log in and before you know it your not logged in anymore.

Maybe you have a spyware problem!!!
After having starting this thread, i took conscious that there was at least 1 spyware on my computer. I had problems on the forum but also for almost everything.
I downloaded a special anti spyware program (which actually has found 2 spywares) and now everything works normally.
Of course, it's just an idea...i know nothing about computers
