I may move this to the Music forum a little later, but I'm not sure everyone looks there. :D

*PLEASE ALSO CHECK OUT THE THREAD IN THE GENERAL FORUM REGARDING THE REVIEW OF THE CD IN THE LOS ANGELES TIMES.*

Notice the "touring behind Songs" comment! :)
And the CD received "a glowing report in the Los Angeles Times".
I'm very happy for him. :) He deserves this.

For a dude whose résumé includes playing a bunch of butt-kicking cops, a butt-kicking environmental agent and a butt-kicking chef on a Navy battleship, Steven Seagal is actually a pretty sensitive guy, as evidenced by his upcoming debut album, Songs From the Crystal Cave. On the disc, which has already been released overseas (and will hit stores in the U.S. later this year), Seagal sings songs "with a strong, understated voice, in the realm of Jack Johnson but with more energy," according to a glowing review in the Los Angeles Times last month. Seagal plans on touring behind Songs this spring. Evildoers, corrupt politicians and drug lords beware. ...

Yet another review on Steven's CD

Nothing new in this article, but it shows just how much publicity Steven is starting to receive across the country on his Songs From the Crystal Cave CD. :)

Action star Steven Seagal, known for kicking bad-guy backside on film, shows his soft side in his debut CD, "Songs from the Crystal Cave."

The CD, which has already been released in Europe, features Seagal singing "with a strong, understated voice, in the realm of Jack Johnson but with more energy," according to an article in the Los Angeles Times last month. Seagal told the Times his mother inspired the disc.

"My momma died two years ago, and before she did, she said, `Son, you've got a lot of songs. Put them out. People like them,'" the tough-guy actor said.

Great news! I am glad he is getting that kind of publicity from stations like MTV. The music really is something and should speak for itself. I believe now Seagal is aging he is focusing more on music and spirituality than making good quality action films.

Thanks for posting Serena!! :)

A Little Addition !!

A Little Addition !!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From News Week entertaintment

Meditate on This

This October, actor and Buddhist Lama Steven Seagal is releasing an album, "Songs From The Crystal Cave." Five things you didn't know about his musical career:

He studied with Albert Collins and Lightnin' Hopkins.
His manager worked with Kiss.
"Crystal Cave" has a track with Stevie Wonder on harmonica.
"Steven Seagal" is referenced in rap lyrics by Eminem, Ja Rule and Busta Rhymes.
His CD first went out to the media without his name. Now there's a smart publicist.

Yes apparently they do!! I have let a few people listen to mine (like gold to me)
and I didn't tell them who it was for the simple fact I knew they were not Seagal fan's and would not give it a fair shake!! Probably would not have even listened! They liked some of the songs more than other's, but as a whole thought it was really good!! And were like "please who is it" and when I told them they were shocked!! Said they would buy when it was released in the states!

So yes I think that was a very good move!! :) :)

A mention at Billboard.com on July 14, 2005. :)

Steven Seagal, action icon and star of such films as "Hard to Kill," "Under Siege" and "The Glimmer Man," is planning an early 2006 U.S. release date for his debut album, "Songs From the Crystal Cave."

The set, which features guest appearances by Stevie Wonder, Lt. Stitchie, and Lady Saw, is already available in France and will be sold in Asia come September. The martial-arts master culls from a wide swath of musical influences on "Cave," including blues, rock, pop, Jamaican dancehall and traditional Indian music.
