Seagal and your spouse

Well, the question is whether Seagal's significant other would watch his films with him. Would it matter? It is how people complement eachother that make them work, not that they are exactly alike. I will share a funny quote from Seagal himself which might shed a little light on your question. He said, "I don't think I will ever get married again. I will just find a woman I don't like and buy her a house." However, not only has my wife been very understanding of my being a fan of Seagal. She has very graciously watched many, if not all, of his films with me, and get this, even attended his concert at the Fillmore West with me. I have been very appeciative of this since it is not something she would do if it were not for myself. So, yes, one must not give up Seagal within an understanding relationship, even if the other party doesn't much care for it.

I think asking a woman not to like Seagal is like asking a man not to like Angelina Jolie. Even though I think she's loopy and weird, I get the "attraction" part of it.

Seagal just has the "it" factor! :)

I have to disagree with you, I'm of the male gender (and heterosexual, ask my girlfriend!), but I do NOT like Angelina Jolie. Apart from that, my girlfriend doesn't feel attracted to Steven, so there goes that theory :p

I am happy though, that she has nothing against Steven Seagal (she liked Nico, but that's about the only of his movies we saw together). When we watch action movies, it usually comes up to Jean-Claude van Damme or Clint Eastwood. This isn't because she doesn't like Seagal-movies, she just REALLY likes JCVD, Kurt Russel and Clint (her favorite movies include Tango & Cash, Demolition Man, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, Hard Target).

Then again, I praise myself really lucky to have a girlfriend who doesn't ridicule me for watching action packed movies, since the majority of my friends does so.

Never been into JCVD. Demolition Man is a good movie though. And Tango and Cash. One of my favourite non-Seagal movies is Thunderheart with Val Kilmer. If you haven't seen it, try to rent a copy if you can find it. It's pretty old now.

my spouse likes steven too but will only watch all his movies once. He actually admires him so i have no problems being a fan. In fact, he said if ever steven came to town, he'll definitely never be able to prevent me from going to see him even if he locks & bolts me up!!! LOL. Anyway, he's resigned to the fact that I only buy Steven's movies & won't buy other movies even if it's action packed....hahahaha

Fans

I have the whole collection of Seagal Movies and CD's, with the exception of Kill Switch (?) which I have not purchased yet.

My husband likes him but is jealous, when I had Steven on my background he asked how I would feel if he had Madonna on his. I told him that I think she's hot and would love it. He doesn't think Angelina Jolie is pretty either, as the other fellow mentioned.

My Father-in-Law loves to watch my collection when he is here and catch up on all the news ones.

My kids are not allowed to watch all of the movies, but the ones they do they like, and they love his CD's.

Madonna

I forgot to mention when I told my husband I thought Madonna was hot, he just rolled his eyes. I think he was trying to evoke a jealous reaction. It didn't work, I may even like her better than he does, lol.

Thunderheart is a pretty good movie indeed, but so are most Val Kilmer movies.

It kinda surprised me how many women there are to be found on this forum, since I never met one in real life (apart from my girlfriend that is).

Good for you! I'll bet you find someone with the same interests though!

My new girlfriend isn't a big fan of action films in general so I think introducing her to Seagal films will be difficult. I also had to sell all but two of my Seagal DVDs due to money issues. While the directors cut of Ticker probably isn't the best place to start, Seagal's performance as the villain in Machete wouldn't be so bad.

As my girlfriend isn't a big action fan I was thinking of buying either The Foreigner or Against the Dark for us to watch. The Foreigner because it is a thriller with a lot of twists and turns and Against the Dark because she loves vampire and zombie films.

What does everyone think?

NO!! Don't let her watch Againast the Dark. It's awful. It really is. And i love vampires. The Foreigner is awful too.
I'd pass on Ticker as well.
Show her Machete. Then, buy Hard To Kill or Nico, or even Under Seige. If she'd like somethnig more recent, go with Into The Sun.
